Do You Play By Subscription?
Yeah, I wish subscription could be offered across state lines, then I wouldn't have to worry about sending money to my friend in Ohio who buys our tickets for us. I like the idea of being able to claim anonymously in Ohio. I kinda wish Utah had the lottery, but glad they don't. I know I would spend a lot more than I already do, so it is a good thing in the end. Plus, the anonymous thing in Ohio would trump buying tickets in Utah anyway (unless Utah had lottery and anonymous claiming available.)

Texas legislature to consider lottery winner anonymity bill
Why put a dollar figure on our choice/safety?. Just give us two boxes....check box1 if you want to stay anonymous, check box2 if you don't. Better still, keep everybody anonymous and let the hams and the hot dogs go out there and seek their own publicity.

Canadian lottery winner fighting to remain anonymous
The winner of a $50 million lottery who waited a year to collect the prize and has still not been named more than a month later is fighting for the right to remain anonymous.
The person doesn't want to be identified as the winner of the March 16, 2014, Lotto Max prize, a source who didn't want to be named said, despite a clear statement by the British Columbia Lottery Corp. (BCLC) that anyone buying a ticket must allow their name and photo to be published before collecting a prize.

It's time the lottery needs to stop releasing a person name and picture when a big win is won!
Your inability to understand my point, doesn't have anything to do with me understanding reality. However, you have been given many examples of why being able to be anonymous to collect a large lottery win have been given. Furthermore you deflect by calling it whining....Your illogical idealist impaired thinking doesn't compute, just because a bunch of other ones screwed up, makes a real piss poor excuse to forgo anonymous lottery claims.

Retired NY principal claims $326M lottery jackpot
I live in an anonymous state, however, if I won in a non anonymous state I would have someone claim as an entity or use a disguise. I would then change my name.

Puerto Rico joins Powerball today
If PR allows anonymous claims, it must be easily the best place to win the lotto. All the other anonymous states require some state income tax. PR you only pay a 4% rate - no federal!

Maryland Mega Millions jackpot winner claims prize
The only people that scream conspiracy theory have something to hide, or are deflecting the truth. However, in this instance, I don't have an issue with anonymous lottery claims. If I won a large lottery jackpot I would want to stay anonymous too.

Are there any advantages to NOT being anonymous?
What if it was if you win you must have the public press conference or only take 1% of the annunity amount if you want to stay anonymous, and the rest would just roll over to the next drawing...That would be like taking the 3.4 million to stay anonymous or would you throw away the 344 million annunity...LOL...If I won I'd say bring on the press conference, I have no problem saying no!

Are there any advantages to NOT being anonymous?
I always hear people talking about why lottery winners should claim anonymously (if their state allows it). But what advantages does a public winner have?
