Daughter saves Massachusetts man from being victimized in sweepstakes scam
Right now people are figuring out ways to use the current virus crisis to scam anyone they can.
As for the Publishers Clearing House scams, that company should do a better job of explaining a winner's tax burden. State lotteries do a great job in explaining 25% is ducted for Federal along with state taxes (if any). If somebody calls and says you won something, but have to pay taxes up front, it's probably a scam.

MUSL paid $1.5 million to settle lawsuit over rigged jackpot
A national lottery group agreed to pay $1.5 million to settle a lawsuit filed by an Iowa man who claimed that a $9 million jackpot he won in 2011 would have been bigger if the previous one hadn't been fixed by an insider.

Lottery-scamming brothers avoid asset seizures by transferring property to their mother

Two brothers who were behind the largest lottery scam in U.S. history and owe more than $2.3 million in unpaid restitution and court fees recently transferred several properties they owned to their mother.

Colorado man who unwittingly split a $4.8M jackpot with scammer is fighting the Colorado Lottery
In 2005, three people won a Colorado Lotto jackpot worth $4.8 million, and Boulder's Amir Massihzadeh held one set of winning numbers.
