Judge rules Massachusetts Lottery can suspend high-frequency winners
The lottery director can determine it is factually improbable for a person to win hundreds of scratcher, pick2/3, MB/PB from 500 different shops in 100 different towns.
But according to the article the lottery director already determined they were buying the tickets (probably at a reduced cost) from people that actually purchased the tickets.
If a person has a legit system of winning pick 4, would they be doing it at 500 different shops in 100 different towns, possibly at different tim

how do people kep the lottery fire burning for 20+ years
Gotta piggy back off of what Raven posted. I'd have to say it started with the very simple vision of what was actually discovered as being 'attainable' during the entire trial and error, winning with balanced losing proving grounds. This is only Pick3/4 I'm talking about because anything larger requires pure, unadulterated luck unless you can find the coin to actually implement a viable system. Next, odds make all the difference and further contribute to what's attainable while also making the q

Massachusetts man pleads guilty in lottery tax fraud scheme
Law enforcement authorities alleged he used a 10-percenting ploy to become the nation's top lottery winner.
It looks like the enforcement people or whomever wrote this article never heard of ten percenters that are usually found at race tracks. But maybe because they never heard of one declaring to be a professional gambler to avoid paying taxes.
From at least 2013 through 2015, store owners Kinslieh and Patel purchased winning lottery tickets from the ticket holders for cash at a discount

World Lottery Association president urges veto of warning labels
Notice the cash values ?? Me either... Rebecca my dear, why not post these cash values ?
Because the cash values are lower, and posting lower prize amounts might hurt sales. You and I might want to know the cash value, but plenty of people see the MM jackpot being advertised as $367 million and think that's what they'll actually get if they win. It all seems pretty consistent with her opposition to including the warning because it might reduce sales.
From the article: During my Lottery c

UK Lottery refuses to pay out £4 million win on suspicions ticket was bought with stolen bank card
but all will be revealed in time.
Yep, this happened earlier this month and hopefully we'll get the results very soon. And then we can read the I told you so .
Maybe one of our UK members will explain the difference between the debit card used to purchase the ticket and the cash cards we can purchase at our local Walmart type stores. This article doesn't explain how Camelot knew they used a debit card to purchase the scratch-off. When I use a card to purchase lottery tickets, the transac

Colorado man who unwittingly split a $4.8M jackpot with scammer is fighting the Colorado Lottery
The state said in its court filing that the Tiptons have not paid any of the restitution to Colorado and are unlikely to do so.
That's Colorado's problem, not Massihzadeh's. It's irrelevant to the case unless CO is making the argument that it doesn't have the money to pay Massihzadeh, which it isn't. CO is only making the argument that they don't have to pay Massihzadeh due to contract. In fact, the CO Lottery has its financial report prominently displayed on its website, showing the lottery

Florida's biggest Powerball winner sues her own son after winnings squandered
The article actually explains the lawsuit is based on Gloria asking for a conservative investment
It's the defendant's lawyer's motion to dismiss that claims that the lawsuit is based on the son introducing her to an advisor who simply did what she wanted. It's a fairly safe assumption that the lawsuit is based on somebody thinking the son and advisor aren't acting in Gloria's interest and doing as good a job as they're capable of, but all we should be really certain of is that the two side

$10M North Carolina lottery winner plans to spoil 12 grandkids
He decided to take the lump sum, not the annuity.
He received a check of 4,245,009 after required state and federal tax withholdings. And, he will owe more to the IRS next year when he files his income tax return.
Since they only withhold 24% federal taxes, he will most likely owe the 13% balance (less any charitable contributions).
The article states that I buy three or four [tickets] a week, Duncan said when he got the check. Those are $30 tickets x 3-4 each week. That's $90-$120 ever
