Wow... Mega Millions is really struggling. I hope they can turn this game back around and make it fun again to play with their new matrix. MM has always been my favorite, but I find myself lately playing the more expensive PB because of the larger and more frequent won jackpots.

30 rollovers would not be the norm. Most likely is a reduction from 12 to 8 jackpots per year with the new MM matrix, with higher average jackpot values.

Pretty impressive graph you have going here JonD- l am of the mind that Californians especially Californians are having 2nd thoughts when it comes to both the MM PB jackpots. Consider that PB was introduced to the State back in April a week before tax day and we have yet to get a winner or even a split for the top prize. Californians are impatient and perhaps the slow down in sales is one of the reasons for the dropoff, but then again l could be wrong.

With the big jackpots and all the interesting lottery stories, I think this show stands a good chance of doing well. Lotteries are starting to be seen differently. It seems pretty slick in the promo.

Multiple jackpots no...but if you did win a jackpot one good time you could have better luck buying and winning on scratch-offs I would think...that's what I'd be playing mostly if i won a big jackpot....it'd be nice to go in and buy those $20 scratch-offs at like $500 each time

Instead of going up, it went down. Definitely not as many sales as they anticipated. Perhaps the diehard lottery players are broke from spending all their money on the 2 huge jackpots earlier this year. I had really expected it to have been bumped to $425 million at least

Call me crazy but I think it's just stupid to have one huge prize. I understand that's the purpose of the Lotto but I think the players would be better served with more opportunity. I know nobody plays the smaller jackpots like they do these monsters but it's just a waste as nobody needs that much money. Just my opinion.

Powerball lottery jackpot storms back to $203 millionReply
$203m is old news. Now the Jackpot is $245m. From what the MUSL told me via e-mail is that after October 21,the Mega will be difficult to win in anticipation that the Jackpots will swell. Still I play more Mega than Powerball because of the $1-$2 differential.

Great question Josh...I play the biggies MM and PB at the base jackpots and up........Scratchers now I only play the $10 and $20 ones cause their odds are usually better, and if I got an extra $100 bucks I try to cover those odds...I also play the Cash 5 here in NC when it get past at least 250,000

Even the last time Mega Millions went over $100 million, which was just four months ago, Powerball was still crushing MM with its jackpots, and Mega Millions and Powerball popped on consecutive days.
