Massachusetts treasurer continues campaign to allow online lottery sales
Tough call on this one. I do understand the treasurer's POV by giving the lottery players an alternative method to purchase. Especially the ones I refer to as the *ICEWOMPAA kids. You know the type.. Can't open a can of Soup without an app.
I will offer a bit of opposition to her opinion of Done right, an online lottery will help them . If I can get something on line, then I do not necessarily go to the store. I do have 2 small rural community stores that I purchase my tickets at. I don't pur

Wisconsin SuperCash $$
So lets do some more depressing math. I found/read the article. His game is twice a week vs. me/us playing 7 days a week. He said he only played when the jackpot was high so its actually less than once a week.
He wins $1 million vs. our 350K. He wins after playing the same numbers for 5 years vs.myself playing MULTIPLE sets for over 19 years.
His odds for his $1 million are 1:11.6 million vs. SC at 1:1.6 million. At the end of all this, I'm not suppose to feel rotten and pi**ed o

Trusts and Tax - losing the anonymous benefit?
In Arizona, the lottery agency will not pay out prizes without knowing who, specifically, will be receiving the money, even if it is claimed through a trust.
I've always figured that every state would want to know the identity of the actual person who owns the ticket. Remaining anonymous means that the lottery doesn't release your name to the public, not that they write a check to John Doe and have no idea who actually won. Recently somebody claimed through a trust somewhere and the article

Powerball joins lottery frenzy with $620 million jackpot
Just curious about process and rough dollar cost ?
There was an article not that long ago about the MA lawyer who has done the work for several winners who claimed using a trust. I don't remember any specific figures, but I was surprised how cheaply he was doing it, with no premium for the notoriety and (I'd think) extra phone calls. Basically just charging his usual rate for the actual time, and it's not that much time, as has already been noted. Like the LP stories about each new jackpot

$1 BILLION MEGA MILLIONS LOTTERY DRAWING TONIGHT
Anyway to find that info out?
Freedom of Information request? The information is available, but they certainly don't put it out there in plain sight. I've seen two news article (one of them here on LP) that indicate that PB finished at 476instead of the advertised 460, but no idea where the info comes from.
The TX lottery website posts a PB worksheet that has information that may or may not be more accurate and up to date. Look for the links to the worksheets here: https://www.txlottery.

Mega Millions sets world record with $1.6 billion lottery jackpot for Tuesday drawing
This article made no claim that it's the better choice. That's your own personal belief. If you don't think you can manage that much money successfully, then you don't have to take the lump sum should you win. Better yet, do not play when the jackpot gets this high.
I have news for you, crooked lawyers and fund managers have bankrupted winners who took the annuity. Bad life choice and bad investments have bankrupted winners who took the annuity. Annuity winners are not less likely to spend it

$970 MILLION: Mega Millions ticket-buying frenzy forces new jackpot estimate

The article I read led me to believe that the .34001 was a fixed rate. I don't know anything
about how lotteries are ran at the nuts and bolts level.
What I would like to know is where the $40 million reset / start-up comes from.

Lottery ticket leads FBI to Illinois bank robbery suspect
This all too funny that people believe everything they read without paying attention to what they are reading WOW

It just don't add up to me but I am only commenting the article itself.
