Pick 3 and The Upper Extreme
In Illinois the number 825 last hit straight on 6/29/06. The last time it hit before that was exactly 10,684 consecutive games prior on 12/27/1987. As far as I know, this is the longest skip for a straight Pick 3 number anywhere on record. Most states don't even have this many games to their entire history yet. Breaking this extended skip down into other observations will show how it was at the upper extreme end of long-out probability.
Between the hits on 12/27/87 and 6/29/06 the fo

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The Powerball jackpot has rolled. The cash value is now $94.5M. The advertised annuity value is represented as being $203M. The lottery has been selling above average sales on this run. Although in a temporal sense, the upcoming draw is the 14th in this series, the jackpots are better reflected by an average 15th draw. I will therefore treat the system as if it were a 15th draw. The average number of sales on a 14th draw is about $39.0M tickets. If this is the number of sales realized o

Texas Lottery makes contingency plans for takeover
The Texas Lottery Commission began laying the groundwork Wednesday to take over the $95 million-a-year operation historically carried out by a private corporation in the event that the state is no longer satisfied with its work.
Officials made clear that the prospect of the lottery severing its 14-year relationship with Rhode Island-based Gtech Corp. was highly remote.
But they also expressed deep concerns over recent reports that the gaming giant, which is soon to be sold to the Italian f

Guys, i refuse to pay 30 dollars a month, knowing that i am only going to access 1 game; Ga's Win for Life..
Pumpi:
How many times a month do you need to win WFL to get back your $30 per month?
How many games besides WFL do you need to win on to justify $30 per month?
Seems to me if it's worth $15 (because it spits out winning numbers) it's worth $30, because a single win will pay for the expense of having it.
But if it isn't worth $30 it isn't worth $15, because it doesn't give

Odds 101

Let's start from a point where we agree. In pick 4 there are 10,000 possible outcomes, and if you have one ticket the odds are 9999:1 against winning
Just a question.
Michigan has a small pamphlet to inform everyone about how to play The Daily 4 Game. In it, it says, Bet Type Straight Odds 10,000-1
So are you saying if I do buy a ticket it would be improper to say the odds are 10000:1? In a normal conversation, I neve

My bringing Texas into an OK event was just a tongue in cheek action stemming from long term rivalry between the two states at many levels other than football. No reason for me to explain further. I just believe OK lottery folks are smarter than those here in Texas.
As for MegaMillions not doing well - You seem to want to apply that to the game as a whole. I have no information, inside or otherwise, about the overall health of the game. I only know that Texas has never met the profit

reThinking Lottery Systems??
So far, the right idea...but, consider this. If we know the following to be a commonly occuring event
1 follows 6
2 follows 4
3 follows 8
4 follows 9
5 follows 0
and so forth, then in theory, we could say
the last number to fall was a 9
so the next due number is a 4
and the next due number is a 2
Up thru however many recurrances that one think should exist. This would then reveal an entirely new set of numbers that would not have been looked at before, because, no
