Bahamas 'web shop' accused of failing to pay winners
Looking at the ticket it looks suspicious to me. The chances of you getting straight hits for both Pick4 and Pick3 on the same day for the midday drawing would be rare but not impossible. It would be interesting to know before Iowa switched back to using Indiana draws at what times the draws occurred. If Iowa was later than Indiana then they might have had time to place bets on Iowa's midday draw using the Indiana results if the web site did not know that Iowa was now using Indiana's resul

South Carolina man wins two $100,000 Powerball lottery prizes
Your math and logic are very, very wrong, noise-gate. The article says Within a 48-hour time span ... realized he had won the lottery, twice then goes on to say Monday night ... The next morning . Think about it. If you realize you've won at say 8 PM Monday night and realize a 2nd time at 8 AM Tuesday morning, how many hours have passed? Is it 48 hours? No. And it doesn't matter when the drawings were. Using your faulty logic, if he played and won on Saturday, it would be nearly 72 hour

Critic calls a Mississippi lottery 'new tax' and 'false hope'
This article struck a nerve . Let's give proper credit for some valid facts. 1: the state is profiting at 27% of your money. 2: the guise of which..It's for public programs. Which yet again is a ruse for them to come off as the good guy. 3: The legal legislation is rarely for the people . It is for the money- revenue. Gambling addiction is alive and well.

Critic calls a Mississippi lottery 'new tax' and 'false hope'
Personally, I see the, give or take, $.27 to each dollar spent on lottery tickets as a donation made to a particular cause dictated by the government. The writer of the article refers to the lottery as a bad tax. It's inefficient, with much higher administrative costs than other forms of taxation, and it encourages nonproductive, if not downright destructive, behavior. If the lottery wasn't legal in the majority of the country, the drug cartels would probably be running massive illegal lotte

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
Nice wins all! I've only been playing when I fill up. Did that this afternoon and bought a $20 Monopoly at the Texaco on SW 13th and Williston in Gainesville. It was roll 407K. Nada. Interesting now that I'm seeing more rolls in the 400K range for $20 Monopoly. The $5M ticket that should be in the 350-400K range has got to be out there. Where is the question? At this point the next $1M winner for that game should be out there too. At least I have more faith these are out there versus near

lf you won $1million could you see yourself retiring?
Great article. There's some great advice in it too. For me personally, it's not that I'm interested in becoming an ultra high net worth individual. I'm more concerned about the peace of mind that I'd have if I was ever so lucky to win just $500,000. That'd give me the peace of mind I'm looking for because then I'd know that I wont run out of money in retirement. I'm semi-retired now... I work part time to keep busy, but in a couple of years I plan to fully retire. I don't want to give up

Virginia couple wins lottery for fourth time
Unfair to losers! $1 million $50k $1 million and now $50k...not bad! The 2014 article says they took the cash option on the second million they won which was $681k before taxes. Yikes! I would hate to know what they received after taxes.

Oldghost: Thanks for the info. I was thinking the same thing that these books seemed out of range. Dracos: I don't know if they would or not. I'm thinking they were hoping this information wouldn't get out and they wouldn't have to be put in that situation again. In my cynical thinking and mistrust for the lottery I thought this was a CYA by the lottery. The person who contacted the warehouse was probably new so when the warehouse said you don't have authority to release any books from t

Georgia Lottery to add extra Cash 3, Cash 4 drawings
Texas started this a few years ago when they introduced All or Nothing with 4 draws a day. Then they went to 4 draws a day with Pick 3 and Daily 4. It's simply a way to bring in more money. They want people to think if they play 4 times a day, they'll win more money. Yes, you have a chance to win more often, but the reality is you will lose more often. Look, this ties in with the other article about millennials not playing lotteries and state lotteries are concerned. This is a way to increase
