Nearly 14,000 S.C. lottery players won Pick 3 Friday
South Carolina Education Lottery (SCEL) rules state that the aggregate liability limit is $3.5m, which can be increased without notice. However, the article says that $3.5m was the total prize payout.
That would mean that all but four of the 13,996 bet 50 cents, which doesn't seem right. But, I don't play the game so maybe my math is wrong. In addition to the 13,996 straight winners, there were also 33 front winners and 7 back winners that should be included in the $3.5m limit.

Does The Location Effect Chances Of winning?
Winning scratch tickets are randomly sent to stores. Finding one is pure luck. However, the prizes are staggered throughout the entire print-run of a game. Some scratcher games are on the market for two years, so the lottery commission doesn't want people claiming all of the big prizes in the first few weeks of the game.
I recommend that you read the Philadelphia Inquirer's article on Joan Ginther. She won three scratch jackpots, $2 million, $3 million, $10 million in tiny Bishop, TX (popu

New Jersey makes case to Supreme Court on sports betting
I still cannot understand this
Maybe because it's kind of bizarre, and the article could explain it better. Most laws prohibit people from doing things, but the 1992 law says that government entities can't authorize by law most forms of sports gambling, while exempting states that already allowed it. History suggests that federal law can prohibit sports gambling under the commerce clause, but this law more or less says that the prohibition is based on the federal government not allowing sta

Illinois lawmakers call for investigation into lottery
I quoted from the article:
The firms said that even if all grand prizes were not awarded in games, the odds of winning were the same for each individual ticket.
What jerks. While we care about odds, we care about honesty and the amounts being what they are claimed for all the tickets printed and sold as should be for the benefit of the game and the players that hope with the real odds of winning a big one.
Are these sleaze-bags really trying to justify their cheating scratch-off buyer

I really admire the guy and have for a long time, esp. since I started following him on Facebook. While he's never labeled himself, I suspect his political ideology is very close to my own; I know many of our values are identical. I wish he'd run for President and in the comments sections under each and every article he posts, others say the same thing. His very best quality is his tact, something a politician and diplomat needs...the type of tact that, according to Winston Churchill, is the abi

Fascinating read- "How Casinos Enable Gambling Addicts"
A person can only drink so much and they'll pass out. A person can only take so much drugs at one time that they will pass our or od.
An out of control gambler (called degenerates in casino jargon) will play until it's all gone and then go get some more by any means so they can play some more. Embezzlers think the day will come when they'll get it all back but they never do.
Then in some cases things like the article linked in the OP happen.
Casinos are as much in the ego business as

U2, my fav vet song is, veterans of psychic wars by BOC. Magic has been an indispensable weapon in warfare for centuries. Here's an interesting article about the real veterans of psychic wars. Aleister Crowley, AKA, the wickest man alive not only help defeat the black magicians of the Third Reich, but he personally forced deputy Fuhrer Rudoph Hess to fly to England in Operation Missile Toe by magical means. Hess crashed landed in Scotland and was captured by a farmer wielding a pitch fork.

I guess you never heard of gangrene, closest match I could think of. Both will lead to death if allowed to continue.
Read the article linked below. Just replace blood with money and, well... I think you get the point. Trump is smart
enough to know that amputation is most likely the best choice at this late stage.

Do you believe every combination has the same probability?
There was an effect on the Massachusetts Cash WinFall game profits, but because it was positive, the lottery people looked the other way. The overall problem was the same as when an Australian syndicate bought all the tickets in the Virginia Lotto game; they tied up lottery terminals preventing others from playing. Because of that the Virginia Lottery and many other state lotteries created new rules preventing a group of players tying up terminals. But just like the Michigan Lottery, the Mass Lo
