Powerball's 15 million dollar increase - why?
Good point. Another reason why higher ticket prices are a good idea, as interest rates rise they will need fewer and fewer sales and still have higher and higher (advertised) jackpots.

Powerball's 15 million dollar increase - why?
PB is becoming fully funded earlier because more players are willing to pay $2 for a ticket when the jackpots are lower. I think MM announcing their intended matrix change has changed a lot of players minds about PB.

Powerball's 15 million dollar increase - why?
The cash value actually increased by $9.2 million (it is now $52.1 million, was $42.9 million before). Last night's jackpot actually WAS fully funded, according to the TLC website, with total sales of those four draws at $135,250,202. [$135,250,202 * .3197555 = $43.2 million cash]. Assuming the pattern continues, we should expect draw sales of ~$37 million for Saturday's draw, which would result in a cash jackpot of ~$55 million (but, of course, the MUSL has to skim the jackpot fund in order to

Woman who let Powerball winner go ahead of her has no regrets
i was joking, but if you let 100 people in a day, and they spend $100 ea thats like 1000 free tickets. personally the reward for being nice is knowing you are ncie and the thank you you recieve. what ever happens its upto the old broad, and what she wants to do. not for us to judge. lets get on with us wining our own jackpots and leave the old lady in peace.

Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
you make it 50c a ticket, and 1 in 1 billion m that's $1 buys a 1 in 500 mill chance. people will see the 50c and huge jackpots and flock to it; ignoring the incredibly high odds. you could also make the min buy $2, keeping the shop keepers happy.

New Interesting IL Scratchers Coming & I'm Back!
Played two today to check them out and they are every other, MM then PB, etc. Not very exciting but it does give me a play at two jackpots I might not otherwise enter. It's an expensive way to play but an interesting concept.

Mega Millions multi-state lottery to get harder to win in Oct.
With its sixth win of the year in Texas last night and third win in four drawings, PowerBall seems like it's already easier to win than MegaMillions which has only been won five times so far this year. When MM changes its matrix to make it even harder to win, PB will be the more attractive of the two games inspite of its $2 price. While players like large jackpots they also like having a reasonable chance of winning even more.

6/49 record jackpot winner bought 2 of the same tickets
Ohio has a 649 game that has had jackpot $50M+(annuity) as do some of its neighboring states but PB and MM get all the attention. I think with the multi-states games getting more expensive some of the state games might get a little more attention when their jackpots get to $40M+ with their better odds and price.

What's up with the small Hot Lotto jackpot increases?
I thought it was always slow moving in terms of increases in jackpots. But it is still the best $1 game out there when the JP is high. I seem to win about every thrid time(the hotball number or that and plus one...just got it again). The frequency charts and games out seem to follow a more predictable/guessable pattern.

What's up with the small Hot Lotto jackpot increases?
Three drawings into the cash only, harder to win format and the jackpot increases have been an anemic $50,000 per draw. This coming with one extra moderate sized state (Tennessee) now participating.
Prior to the game change we would have expected increases in the $100,000-$150,000 range with a jackpot over $6 million. What gives? Could it be that players have been more focused on the recent huge PB and MM jackpots, they don't care for the higher odds, or do taxes paid jackpots simply ten
