Three women vying for ownership of $1 million lottery ticket
Sharon Duncan bought the ticket. She threw it away. Period. There is no splitting it. She did not want it. She took her chance, she halfway scratched, trying to be clever and quick, she threw it away. Sharon Duncan thought it was a losing ticket. She does not get to a second chance because she threw away a losing ticket which turned out to be a winner. This is not a case of someone who played for twelve years in an office pool and the one drawing they don't play because it was a choice betwee

OK. Forget everything that was said EXCEPT for the part where he says the prize money will go back into the pool so it can be won again.

Would you join online lottery group?
Guru, I agree I wouldn't join some online shaddy pool either. But if it is a company that is located and registered to do business in the USA, I would be comfortable joining.

Would you join online lottery group?
I would never join an online lottery pool. If a ticket wins a jackpot, the ticket purchaser might be tempted to run off with the winning ticket.

Powerball multi-state lottery to raise prices, jackpots
Well, rocket scientist, from the Powerball website, there were twelve 2011 Jackpot Winners. The only group is the Flatbush Avenue Dodgers. The Carvajal Family Group is more likely a family than a pool. Hardly 2/3 of the 2011 winners, KY Floyd. You also didn't mention that those in a pool might win and not collect for a good while because a former member of the pool thinks they have a share coming, and depending on the size of the pool an individual's share might not really be like hitting a j

Powerball multi-state lottery to raise prices, jackpots
It hardly takes a rocket scientist to figure out that if you're in a group of 5 and everybody plays $1 you're 5 times as likely to win a jackpot as you are playing $1 all by yourself. To anyone who actually pays attention the statistics show that more than 2/3 of the people who claimed a powerball jackpot in 2011 did so as a result of playing in a group. Some years it's over 90%. As a simple matter of probability playing in a pool very clearly makes you more likely to win.

Oregon Walmart workers split Idaho Lottery $1M Raffle prize
More like less than $150,000 after taxes. I would never pool with others for such an expensive ticket with a lower payout. I would rather take the loss or win myself.
