How do you change your life style without arising suspicion?
You remain anonymous to the masses, but eventually friends and family will find out. Not really sure you could remain anonymous when you start buying things you shouldn't be able to afford.

Anonymous UNTIL
If you were in a state where you could claim anonymously or found a way to limit your exposure, would you consider discussing your lottery career and win-fall with the media some time after things have settled?

$337 million Powerball jackpot ticket sold at gas station in small Michigan city
I have been told the best way to stay as anonymous or almost anonymous is to form a trust and have the trust turn in the winning ticket. Boy 244.6 million cash payout makes the holder up in that 1% of the richest people everyone loves to hate. I hope they leave this country and have some peace in their lives one can dream!!!

$102 million lottery winners - 17 years later
I agree. All states should let you remain anonymous if you want. Illinois doesn't though. More people would possibly buy tickets if they knew they could remain anonymous if they won.

Should Illinois Keep Winners Anonymous?
Why is Illinois so backward on this? Notice which state's MM winner hasn't come forward yet? It's just ridiculous parading the winners in a press conference. Are they waiting for a high profile kidnapping to change the law. Write your representatives (or in Illinois buy a election campaign fund raiser ticket). Now, if I could just figure out who my representative is...

Maryland Mega Millions winners claim prize anonymously
Surprised that no one else finds it odd that the record jackpot was claimed by all anonymous people. Smells like a scam to me. Especially since 3 people won. I could understand one person wanting to be anonymous but not 3 people. The integrity of the lottery just went down yet again and that will cost them money. Congrats to the lottery headquarters for another fine cover up!

Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
That would be the safest way to truly be anonymous. In SC you can remain anonymous but because of the SC Freedom of Information Act anyone can request the name of the winner by just filing a request under this law.

Kansas Mega Millions winner claims jackpot anonymously
The winner in Kansas EARNED the right to remain anonymous when they put their money into play. Congrats to them. The public has not earned the right to know JACK. If the state rules allow you to remain anonymous, and you make that choice everybody else dont matter.
