During the Covid Era and the ensuing Stimulus Checks, there was arguments that the free money was driving lottery sales and the massive jackpots that we saw. I don't think it's because of the third drawing in a week. People tend to buy lottery tickets on a per-week basis, not a per-drawing basis. I suspect that many people who were buying multiple tickets for the Wednesday and Saturday drawings stuck with the same weekly expenditure or maybe added one more ticket.
