Australian woman's winnings stolen after she posts selfie with winning ticket
I agree, what a rotten thing for some lowlife to do to this happy girl. Then I see most people here take jabs at HER, and are calling her stupid. So it seems most people think crooks are entitled to screw people over? Is that the kind of mentality this world is full of? People that think stealing from someone is justified simply because someone was dumb enough to give an opportunity? Do people really think it is OK for crooks to do and think like this?
Hopefully there are more people wit

Gas station employee stole $850 in lottery tickets, police said
The title of this article is inaccurate. She didn't steal $850 worth of lottery tickets!
It's a surprise to me that she didn't obtain more than $850 in winnings/payments, from the lottery headquarters, from what was probably a lot of scratch off lottery tickets.
Regardless, sure not worth a serious theft judgement record that will follow her for the rest of her LONG work life, etc.!

Dozens of 'dead people' collected NJ lottery prizes last year
Ghosting is a form of identity theft in which someone steals the identity, and sometimes even the role within society, of a specific dead person (the ghost ) who is not widely known to be deceased. Usually, the person who steals this identity (the ghoster ) is roughly the same age that the ghost would have been if still alive, so that any documents citing the birthdate of the ghost will not be conspicuously incorrect if appropriated by the thief now claiming to be that person.
The use of c

Who's the lottery champ here ?
Do pick3 tickets pay enough that winners need the services of a ten percenter?
Not unless the ticket contained multiple plays of the winning number, which was addressed above.
It doesn't matter. You all seem to have forgotten the recent article referenced here that exposed the troubling fraud and theft by lottery clerks. Based on what I read there, I would suspect this store owner, himself, might have been in need of a ten percenter because the lottery commissions are tracking the winn

Are you guys really making money on LP ?
...what's the point ? life is too short for me, so i need that money by any means necessary, no time to socialize .
Hmmm, you should be looking for a site that shows you how to rob a bank in under 2 minutes, or advanced identity theft made easy for dummies or better still, how to become a convict and get free room and board, medical and transportation and all other necessities of life and don't forget how to become a modern day hermit and avoid all human contact because human contact has a d

Ridge
Yeah, ol Zippy...er, jimmy is a hypocrite. He loves to accuse others of homophobia, racism and intolerance, but I can't even begin to count the times he's called everyone in here ignorant and stupid. Thinking you're better than everyone else is just another form of bigotry, right?
He's lying above about trying to post links to ridge's posts; I subscribed to this thread in my reader and get each and every post not long after they're made. Even if someone DID delete them, they'd still be in

Florida lottery kicks off campaign to protect customers from dishonest clerks
Players reminded to sign tickets immediately
The Florida Lottery has launched a new campaign after some store owners were claiming big prizes time and time again despite the small odds.
The lottery has posted videos online and will soon display posters at retail locations urging players to sign their tickets.
They hope this will help prevent store employees from stealing their winning tickets.
When it comes to winning scratch-off lottery games, people who own or work at convenience s

New multi-state lottery game coming to NY, NJ
I guess I should correct my incorrect third grade math as I did not take account into tax theft for the multistate game.
600,000/600.000 per day = 1000 days
1000 days / 365 days = 2.7 years of equivalent richness.
600,000/32,000 per year = 18 .75 years WAITING for the same equivalent of money!!!!!!

$180 Mistake! What would you have done?
Just another example of why clerks should be removed from the process entirely.
Millions of dollars are being made by the states, let them invest some of it to automate the whole process, from buying tickets to cashing them in with Lottery ATM's.
Let the only human error be made by the player and remove the opportunity for mistakes, blunders, fraud and theft by clerks.

Man found $1M lottery ticket while raking leaves
From what legal info I have read, a Bearer Instrument assumes whoever possesses the item is the owner of the item. The assumption can be challenged under some circumstances (example: someone steals it and if the theft can be proven in court then that trumps the Bearer claim).
Most lotteries will do some investigation of a winning claim over $10,000. On major wins, they will do more in-depth investigation before paying out a claim. One thing that the lottery is selling on is trust and that
