$320 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot increased before draw date
That was one really sad story about hitting the jackpot...Jack opened alot of eyes to what NOT to do if you should hit a jackpot..hope he's doing ok now. I havn't seen jack in the news in a bit...
lesson# 1.....tell nobody you hit a jackpot
lesson# 2.....find a GOOD lawyer that you can TRUST
lesson# 3.....Find a way to remain anonymous for states that want to see the person that won
lesson# 4 .....Go back to lesson #1
lesson# 5....enjoy the good life

Lottery winner recounts harassment after claiming prize
This made me sad. All those people he thought were friends....
Hmm. You know, maybe some of them were joking and because he was in a pissy mood from other people really wanting money, he couldn't see the difference between the real jerks and the ones joking. Yeah, I'm trying to put a positive spin on it. It's such a shame.
Again, another good reason to go anonymous if you can.
I do admire him for having only an allowance and not overspending.
Also, I think the key here is that he ca

$500 MILLION: Mega Millions sets all-time lottery jackpot record
See I never understood how people can think they can win the lottery and stay anonymous.
You say you dont want to be known as a lottery winner to any any business you patronize? Well the bank knows how much you have and will treat you like a high priced client. Oh and you will have to get all the tellers to sign confidential statements they all live in the community.
Useing cash for everything might be hard because when your credit card company ups you to the exclusive black card

$500 MILLION: Mega Millions sets all-time lottery jackpot record
Sirbrad,
I, and I believe most of the people on this site, would disagree with you. There's nothing egotistical about it. It has nothing to do with the winner as a person, so it's not ego or self-righteousness. It's the money, and people's attempts to get some of it.
Yes, of course, 99.9999% of people will go about their lives. Normal people. But just a few hundred, or even a few dozen grifters, can hound you and make your life miserable. Some just begging, some pitching charity or busine

$290 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls again
Looks like it is kinda complicated in California. Yes, if you sign the back of your ticket, your name may and most likely will be released. But here is what I found on Lottery Post:
If you want to claim your ticket anonymously, you must do the following:
* Call the CA state lottery office and tell them you would like to claim anonymously
* The legal division will review your request and they decide if they will accept your LLC, Trust, Blind Trust, Partnership (which means you would

State Lottery questions
Two questions:
1 - Is there a place here where you can check to see what is and isn't allowed for your state lottery? Like LLC's, blind trusts, or if you must be photographed?
2 - Anyone else notice that your state lottery keeps changing the rules ? In NC, you did not have to be photographed and could have an LLC - those two items were actually in the FAQ section. Now, there is no mention of either, but a new question: Q: If I should win a large top prize, do I have the option of remaining

Asset managers accused of fronting for real $254M Powerball winner
What a hoot this one turned out to be - smart move by Mr. Anonymous. So the Belpointe Group weren't the real winners - who cares - they now have over $100 million to manage for the real winner. It is what it is folks - I say more power to them
From Connecticut Lottery Website:
Certain information regarding our winners is published and made available. The Lottery will publish and upon request, make available a winner's name, city or town of residence, date and amount of win and the name/loc

If you won the lottery, would YOU go on The Lottery Changed My Life?
I would try to stay as anonymous as possible. Maybe tell my mom and that's about it.
Low key is the key.
Of course this would only apply to millions of dollars. I don't mind when people find out I hit the pick 3 or pick 4.
Even if I ever played and hit the Cash 5, and especially the Pick 6, I wouldn't tell anyone.
Basically I would narrow it down to over $5,000 I wouldn't tell anyone, lol.
