Louisiana public education takes a toll from decreased lottery proceeds
LA Lottery planning for a post-COVID-19 world
By Kate Northrop
With lower game participation levels amidst the nationwide COVID-19 stay-at-home orders, it is no surprise that state lottery revenues have taken a hit. Yesterday, Louisiana lottery officials announced that this would affect the proceeds used to help pay for K-12 public education.
Louisiana law requires that at least 35% of lottery proceeds be transferred to the state treasury and contribute to public education. About 53% of

Oklahoma tribe says state lottery 'second chance' game violates compacts
Oklahoma's expansion of the lottery and other forms of gaming violates the compacts tribes have with the state, the Wichita and Affiliated Tribes said in a court brief filed Tuesday.
Tribes sued Gov. Kevin Stitt on Dec. 31, alleging the gaming compacts automatically renewed. A federal judge has ordered mediation over whether the compacts expired Jan. 1, as Stitt believes, and that continued operation of Class III gaming is now illegal.
The governor is seeking to increase the exclusivity fe

Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack wins $150,000 lottery prize
Former Iowa Gov. Tom Vilsack is $150,000 richer after claiming a Powerball lottery prize Monday.
Vilsack won the money playing Powerball in January, when the jackpot climbed to about $347 million before the drawing Jan. 22.
I forgot about the ticket, Vilsack said in a news release from the Iowa Lottery. Then I woke up 10 days later, on a Saturday morning, and I said, 'Oh, geez, I wonder how I did?'
Vilsack served as governor of Iowa from 1999 to 2007. He served as the U.S. secretary o

Lucky CT man wins $100,000 lottery prize for second time
Oh baby, I can't believe I did it again
A Connecticut man just won a $100,000 lottery, barely a year after winning the same jackpot.
Bruce Rosa won the top prize in the Connecticut Cash 5 on July 5. He previously won $100,000 prize in the same lottery on April 27, 2018.
Oh baby, I can't believe I did it again, Rosa said, according to a press release from the Connecticut Lottery. Of the 4,000 winning tickets this week, Rosa's was the only one with all five numbers matching.

Ultra-34 P-3-P-4 software
Steve
When I get the time the plan is to put together a few of them that could maybe be used to split
pick-5 games into two pick-3s that could then be loaded in ultra-34. The rest would be to convert
the rogue stings back to pick 5.
I have gotten a few PM's from people wanting a copy of the Rogue-II but I have no plans to ever
release it. With the new tools package people will at least have the option to play number games.
It might even be compacted into a single tool, I have

NC Lottery pays out record $7.8 million in Pick 4 drawing
In the lottery world, four zeros can win a lot of money.
More than 2,000 players won the Pick 4 lottery in North Carolina on Saturday when they all chose the winning numbers 0-0-0-0.

New law ensures Pa. lottery winners pay their debts
A new law took effect on Tuesday that will help some Pennsylvania Lottery winners spend their winnings by ensuring they pay any outstanding debts.
The law, which was enacted by Gov. Tom Wolf a year ago, applies only to those lucky enough to win a single prize of more than $2,500.
It makes it so winners who owe back state taxes will have that amount deducted from their lottery winnings, provided their appeal rights on their tax debt has expired or were exhausted.
