Taking blank playslips out of a store
I don't see why not. I do it all of the time since I buy for myself plus I run a Powerball/Lotto pool at work. I often take a handful of each and nobody says anything about it.

Legal fight over $33M lottery ticket could end next week
thanx ridgerunner, i really don't disagree with you on most points..if that picture of you is real i find it disturbing but if mario 38 really stole the lottery pool money by not purchasing the tickets and ?? exactly what happened? did they win a secondary prize and he couldn't pay off? certainly it wasn't the jackpot or he should have been drawn and quartered or tarred and feathered or worse.

Question about a lottery scenario.
i dont think its possible for the 2nd prize to be higher.
It's entirely possible; it's just very unlikely. Imagine that powerball reaches the cap and then rolls another couple of times. That would mean a cash jackpot of about $200 million, while the additional cash in the 2nd place prize pool could easily be over $100 million. Now imagine that the winning numbers, including the power ball, happen to match the numbers from a batch of fortune cookies and you've got 100 or more jackpot winners

Decades of Dollars
I'm actually considering taking the annuity if I was to win. I'm still pretty young at the age of 25. A $23,000,000 annuity jackpot would come to about $548,933 after taxes every year for 30 years. Someone making that much a year can afford a $3m house with an inground pool, a few nice cars, nice vacations, and still have a lot left over to pay for other stuff. Even though I wouldn't retire if I was to win on Wednesday, it certainly would be enough that I could if I wanted to.

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
lucky people, but the the one that is going to continue working at that cement floor costco warehouse is a fool...must have a terrible home life and wants to work to escape that...what possible reason would someone continue to work after winning that much...life is too short to waste at a cruddy job like that...just the risk of driving to work or having the costco warehouse hit by a tornado or plane doesn't seem worth it...what an idiot...why did they join the pool for? so that if they hit it th

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
I was just curious as to how many lines that pool played? With twenty people they must have had a lot of quick picks!

$200M Powerball lottery jackpot won by N.Y. Costco workers
If u like playing lottery pools which is cool. If people are going to do that there should no more than 4 in a group , because the odds in groups favor if there's a huge jackpot. People ask me at work to play in a pool , but i was declined their offer. I don't like sharing money , because not everybody has it and everybody wants it. So the lottery gods need to get in gear and spread the wealth to the south. lol!!

Can prayer affect the outcome of a lottery
Some may call it prayer, and some in the scientific community may call it Quantum Physics, which can influence non-living objects. Since there is an interconnection to all things though space and time, also known as non-locality, then it may be possible to influence ping pong balls. or, If it can't influence the balls, then it may allow the observer to see future events since time is an illusion in my opinion, therefore predict some or most of the numbers not drawn yet.
In another angle

The only time I think its smart to come forward is when its a big pool. Get the facts out as quick as possible before other so called co workers decide to lawyer up and say they were part of it.

All The Brains
Concise it into 200 words or less and more folks will read it.
You speak of 'probability', and where that is true, the CONTEXT of that probability can be misleading:
Let's say any given number will hit five times in 100 games. Does that mean every 20 games that number will hit? no. Does it mean that number will hit 5 times within 10 games and then go ninety games without hitting? no. But the latter is MUCH closer to the truth than the former.
The majority of number actually do hit in a
