It may not be a good news for players who are on a tight budget. I think to increase the jackpot prize they should attract more players instead of increasing the price of the ticket. Even though they increase the price if 2 or more players will hit the jackpot it will be the same the prize will be smaller for each player.

I just thought the 15 mil increase was strange at 70 million. Ever since PB changed to the 40 mil starting jackpot, the increase has been 10 million every roll over until the jackpot is around 120 million then 10+ million increases start happening.

If states continue to contribute only 32% of sales to the jackpots but pay out less in prizes then the objective of the change will be shown not to be to increase the jackpots but to increase the states profits. If neither happens, I would expect another change within a year.

The only thing bad about states selling lottery tickets on line is they are probably going to track all those wins less than $600 that most of us don't bother to file with our tax returns since we usually spent more than we won. Even so if your total loses don't exceed the standard tax deduction for losses, these small winnings could increase your taxable income even though they didn't increase your real income.
