$338 million NJ Powerball winner a deadbeat dad?
Well, hopefully the NJ Lottery Headquarter's office is going to honor the 'Back Child Support Payments Withdrawal' if Pedro's County Police Dept. has contacted the NJ Lottery Headquarters to request such withdrawal. This Easter Break weekend article doesn't indicate such though. Regardless, Pedro has probably been seeing a lawyer to discuss this either directly before, or after, this back child support news hit the press two days ago. Consequently, I don't know how making such a paltry, $

$260 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot surges
Hey Red, we are at $260M at 11 drawings with no winner (according to the article). Recently the PB jackpot went to $587.5M at 15 drawings. If no one hits it by 4/10/13 that will be 17 drawings without a winner and it could go to $900M by then (in my opinion). That would be sick wouldn't it? If someone wins it other than me, I'll be depressed for 3-weeks. However, good luck to ya!

Someone just won 4 million on a scratch ticket from a gas station so close to me
This might make you feel better. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2023514/Joan-R-Ginther-won-lottery-4-times-Stanford-University-statistics-PhD.html First, she won $5.4 million, then a decade later, she won $2million, then two years later $3million and in the summer of 2008, she hit a $10million jackpot. Three of her wins, all in two-year intervals, were by scratch-off tickets bought at the same mini mart in the town of Bishop. Shows that not only can there be big

Fallacies, and two REAL ways of improving your chances
why you persist in posting fallacious arguments in opposition to everything I post You're either suffering from delusions of grandeur again or showing an example of a fallacious remark because it's fact I don't respond to everything you post. Even though Bluejay said but your wins will be small it didn't stop you from babbling on about something you read on another site and posted a link to his article in response to a remark about progressive bets. The subject was about winning $1.9 mil

Arizona pick
I'm in Az, too. I think originally the pick was 36 numbers, right? Now it's 44. I am guessing your numbers now don't include the 8 additional numbers added to drive up the odds and increase the prize. I quit my old numbers when the odds changed and they added new numbers. Luckily in Az we have a company that is a professional lottery pool. I've been with them for 2 years now. Last March one of my pools with 10 players hit the Fantasy 5 for $247,000. You have to be an Az resident to play

Proposal to ban welfare recipients from playing lottery
If you have money to play th elottery then you don't need help from the rest of us to buy food or pay your rent. You can substitute the words, cigarettes, alcohol, cases of pop, bags of potato chips, etc. and most will agree with you. However, the legislation isn't just about what people on welfare buy, but the vendor selling the lottery ticket would be penalized if they knew the person was on welfare or in bankruptcy. I've seen people pay for groceries using EBT cards that drive off in

paying taxes on a $1,000 scratch-off
Nice to know definitively about the claim forms. The biggest I've had is $500 (which was awesome!) so I didn't need to worry about claim. Ironically, I do remember praying that either it would be a big win or just under the $600 since I knew I'd be taxed on it. And yes, claim it because they have your SS# and will be expecting you to pay taxes on it. Otherwise, you are just asking for trouble to follow you. Sorry about that! But better to be good than not. Interestingly enough, I just read

Delaware Lottery adds Keno to lineup
Just to be clear, Delaware has added the Quick Draw variety of Keno, meaning that there is a drawing every 5 minutes during the day. So people playing this type of Keno normally settle in for playing several games. That makes one of the people quoted in the article seem like he's off his rocker. Here's the part I'm talking about: Ken Caudill, owner of Fraizer's, said he expects Keno to drive foot traffic in his establishment, but he doesn't think the 5 percent sales commission he gets from

Laid off Oregon man wins $1 million
I disagree. Although it is a beautiful state, housing isn't cheap. Of course I am very happy for the family, and it was very thoughtful of them to give to their church, but they really need to slow down. Deduct the 10% tithe and the 2 Jeeps, and now they have about $550,000. So now they need a home. Yes, I would love to win $1 million. Still, if someone gave me a check for over $600,000 tomorrow I wouldn't go out and buy a new Jeep (2 of them!) right away. I still have my 2006 Camry, and it's

Do some number combinations have better odds?
Your responses to both of the clips you quoted from my post are very telling. The only thing telling is your inability to provide any useful and non-boring information. Did I say I discovered a revolutionary idea, NO. Did I say I was considering publishing any article about ordinary mathematical statistics that most people should already know, NO. You're not the first person that went on a 4 day trip to Vegas and lost their gambling stake in the first two hours and got bored with watchin
