I hope she gets a degree and maybe a post college degree as well. It is not enough to live on but she could buy her first home and invest the rest. Retire by 40.

For those players who would like more of a filter to reduce the plays.....look for an 3-Odd and 1-Even to come pretty soon, but I do not know exactly which # or when. If I did I would play it big and retire early.

Post your scratch ticket results
I played my first ticket since the big winner today. One 5 Times Lucky (#008) from the Limerick Giant this time won $25. Was going to retire it but thought I would give it one more chance before the new tickets. I will be careful playing the new tickets. I get stressed when I play too much.

I agree I also don't like our school taxes based on our property instead of income and it's why when people retire that even though their home is paid for they can't afford the taxes.

Something definitely wrong with this lottery payout..Yikes.
A lot of people here play for the 5+0 2nd prize payout and some say they could retire on that. Can you imagine expecting $1 million and getting 1/10th of that and you were the only one that hit it? I am just glad all the other states aren't mimicking California.

How much do you all think is enough to retire on?
I'm older than you. I just played around with some investment and annuity calculators I found and I think I could retire now with a 2 million win. I'd think about working a few more years however. 4 or 5 million, instant retirement!

How much do you all think is enough to retire on?
How much does it cost you a year to live? add up your expenses. When do you plan to retire? Good rule of thumb, for every dollar you earn, put 10 cent into savings. Example, you make 400 dollars, 40 goes into savings. Make a budget and live within your means. Don't know how old you are, but starting young and saving, you can retire with comfort.
