Online Lottery Games Poll: Live drawings with balls V computerized draws
1 Vote from me for Live Draw.
If you have the technology and HD TV, you can record the drawings at very high resolution and play them back later in slow motion. If there is hanky panky in the Machine Room, it will be detectable this way. Remembering what happened in Pittsburgh back in 1980 with the conspiracy to inject paint into certain balls, I wouldn't be surprised if a lot of Lottery Commissions do this routinely to keep their people honest!

Iowa Lottery to look at online options
The 25-year-old Iowa Lottery is an offline business in an online world, but Director Terry Rich is out to change that.

Thieves try to cash stolen S.C. lottery tickets in N.C.
Wonder when thieves realize scratch-offs are tracked by the lottery's central computer to which all terminals are wired in?
Also most stores have surveillance cameras in them so easy to get a photo of whoever cashes in tickets. Technology wins again.

One night (2:00 a.m.) as we were walking through there one of the slot techs had some kind of gizmo hooked up to a bank of video Keno machines and we asked him what he was doing.

Many lottery Web sites offline
Hummmm I saw something the other day about some federal computers, in law enforcement mostly, being attacked by a virus ... wonder if the lottery sites run by a government-backed organization with a huge technology budget closed down to aid in preventing the spread of this particularly nasty bug.
Headline was Computer virus strikes federal law enforcement computers; US Marshalls, FBI affected
