what is the best way to buy your tickets
I think they're smart enough to not make the field of numbers 100. As someone else in Lottery Post once said, the matrix is a double-edged sword. Sure, if they increase the matrix, they will probably increase the average jackpot size, but on the other hand, they may significantly decrease the number of players who buy tickets at low jackpot levels. For instance, Powerball sold 4 million tickets less than normal for last night's drawing for $80 million.

Have you cutback with longer odds?
Because of the National events of gas and Katrina, I would normally be cutting back; however, my wife got a new job making $20,000 more annually, and I got an increase of $16,000; so, fortunately for me (and I say that very humbly) I am able to increase my purchases probably until the end of the year or until I hit. If I don't hit at the end of the year (a Jackpot, that is) then I'll adjust accordingly with my budget as I enter the New Year!

Lotto South- Potential New Draw Days
Substituting a bonus ball for the 6th ball would improve the game. The odds for the 3-. 4-. and 5-ball matches would increase and they could increase the corresponding prizes to make the game more attractive, all done without changing the matrix. It might actually result in a bigger jackpot prize as well, depending on sales.

PB annuity
I agree what you said CASH Only about PB payments increase each year just like CA SLP. If I won a big jackpot, I would likely take the one time lump sum because Uncle Sam would take money away only once. If I took payments, Uncle Sam would take away money each year, but I get a gradual increase. Lets hope PB has lots of winners, but no jackpot winner, and one PB ticket breaks the North American jackpot record of 363+ million because PB is going to have restrictions of 25 million at a time when i

California & Mega Millions
Will the odds revert if CA is dropped? Think not. They were an excuse to increase the odds, now we have to liove with them. Might as well use CA to increase the dollars.

New Mexico Lottery still looking for $93 million Powerball winner
Also look at what Powerball is doing. They are setting up their annuitized jackpot in a way where you get more money in the later years then in the earlier years...just a way to increase the advertised jackpot more and faster. If you keep more money in the securities for more years you will earn more interest. This is how they will be able to start it at $15m and watch how much the jackpots increase.Brad

The end of one-sentence posts
This is so much business Todd. I'll have to remember to increase the number of sentences or put it on a blog or predict numbers. I'll have to increase my sentences and I agree with this.

Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
It hurts the most when you could be the one losing the ability to play Powerball. CO and I are on the same side of the fence right now.I do like the new game. No more $10 million jackpots. 100% increase in the top tier consolation prizes for a lot less of an increase in the odds...Powerplay. What's not to like?

The estimated Jackpot for the next drawin
The top prize amount is based on the amount of each State contribution and their sales didn't increase because California joined the group. Each State still has to pay all the lower prizes out of their own ticket sales and I doubt that they are contributing more to the jackpot than they did before. California's additional contribution probably amounts to less than an 8% increase. In the pass the jackpot has grown faster when it hit $100M+ and attracted additional players, that probably hasn'
