The person who missed out on being part of the Albany 7 should not feel bad
When Mike Barth reached for a Snickers bar as he stood at the counter to buy a Mega Millions lottery ticket, someone reached over his shoulder and bought the next ticket. I thought about saying something but decided to just let it slide, Barth said about the Quick Pick ticket sold right before the one he purchased at 2:40 p.m. last Friday. I bought the next ticket the winning ticket! Here is a link https://www.lotterypost.com/news/229674 for you to go check it out so all of the what

Man gets 23 years for robbing Illinois lottery winner
If you do a Google search for Carmine Palella of Palatine, you can find an earlier story on the Daily Herald website. The victim won $100,000. That's it. 100k. One problem with this story, and stories like it, is the media uses the generic phrase lottery winner as though it has a specific meaning, like you can use it as a descriptor and everyone knows what they're talking about. My first thought when I read the story was, How many millions we talking about? Turns out the man didn't have enou

Determinism vs Randomness and Chance
He and his 2 friends have hijacked the Topic. Speaking of hijacking topics. https://www.lotterypost.com/thread/226890 Why did you feel it was necessary before discussing what does it take to win (mathematically speaking)? that future posters read a boring article that never came close to answering the question your topic suggested? I have to give you credit, Jimmy; it's not easy to go completely go off topic in your first post and hijack the thread you started.

$32M Calif. Lottery jackpot claimed
Congratulations to Mr. Kitauchi, Mr. Sidhu, and your families! It sounds to me like your plans are wise ones. Here's another perspective on Mr. Kitauchi's win: Kitauchi is such a regular customer that as soon as Sidhu sees him pull into the gas station, he prints a QuickPick lottery ticket for him. http://www.visaliatimesdelta.com/article/20110119/NEWS01/101190318/Celebrating-millions-Orosi-man-turns-in-winning-lottery-ticket

How does scratch off lottery work?
Nice find of info out on the web. I didnt read all of the document either, but it appeared to me that it was describing a patent for using a barcoding system to control inventory of lottery tickets that have been disbursed to retailers. I'm thinking I might use the Ask The New York Lottery feature on NY's website and e-mail them a question. I suppose I could ask them if they know the retailers location of all top prize winners for all scratch off's prior to the tickets being being sold. I'm

S.C. man facing foreclosure wins lottery
A couple of points I'd like to make. 1) God doesn't care who wins the lottery. Sorry, it's true. It's all luck, no heavenly intervention. 2) This article doesn't tell the whole story. Please see: http://www.thestate.com/2011/01/14/1646424/lottery-win-saves-home.html The guy is broke in part because he plays the lottery EVERY day. Also, instead of saving some money, he plans to blow a large portion of it on a cruise. This guy will have $0 in his checking account within

Claiming Anonymous in California Lottery
Hi, thanks for the reply. Yes, I read the faq as well. I am curious why the news article# 215346 says - Anonymous winner claims $23M. The first paragraph says - A lucky California retiree who doesn't want to be named bought a SuperLotto ticket last week worth $23 million. This contradicts what's in the faq section of calottery website. How were they able to claim anonymously? From my research, California doesn't allow blind trust. So I can't think of any other way to claim anonymou

$290 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery rocket-ride
they are no doubt playing it safe, and will update the jackpot amount before draw again I completely agree. Don't expect it to be at $300 million but it wouldn't surprise me if it did or got close, ticket sales are sure to push it up some more. Glad it rolled since the winning numbers were not nice on the numbers I had printed out. I wasn't even close. . I'm going to think good thoughts for this next drawing. I wasn't feeling good about this one and did bad, compared to one draw
