'Lucky': a look at the lives of lottery winners, on HBO
Todd, I'm thinking it's because they are jealous. I don't like pulling the jus jealous card, but it seems like that. And I agree, that it makes no sense for that one guy to say he was glad to not to be part of the pool that won because of the hassles of winning yet, he is playing Powerball trying to win. Weird.

Wrong guy: Cops beat up lottery player
I was in the shower at the pool when vandals destroyed the ceiling. I was taken naked to jail for the crime and later released. Naked in jail, what an experience. Nobody appologized to me. I was completely innocent. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. Wish I could have gotten a million.Would have changed my life. Instead, I have the memory.

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
I said: Now it is common sense that the pool is not one complete set of combinations, but overlapping sets? THIS IS FOR ONE DRAWING NOT MANY. THERE ARE OVERLAPING QP SETS THAT DUPLICATE AND REPEAT IN THE SAME SALES EVENT FOR THE NEXT DRAW. Ah yes the Luck mantra of the shills. Fred carries the same tune and has said like yourself CT, that it is not bad luck to lose, but it is good luck to win . Luck is house propaganda when they can sell a limited QP pool for one draw that overlaps and

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
Hi Floyd, Good name BTW. I read your posts here and am flattered that someone who knows the lottery inside and out would go to bat to sooth RidgeRunner s angst. You are expert on all things lottery as revealed in the many threads you participate in. I would say your insights are exceptional. In fact, way above-board. Thank you for confirming how the lottery front office looks at the game and the distribution of Quick Picks. You just have not come out and directly said, that the percepti

Statistically Speaking - QP's and PP's
I am not for store bought QP s. There are too many events that point that they are not drawn from a complete pool of combinations. I would be more inclined to use LP generated QP s as a more reliable pool that makes QP s from a random generator. What is the difference? YOU control the QP. Could there be shared jackpots? Yes, but, it is very unlikely the LP members would have the same sets in play. If two and three people win from store bought QP s and the sales are low, there is some kind of fix

Why Mega Millions And Powerball Have More Winners Regardless Of The Odds To Win
In new york, it is easier to win big with 1 TAKE FIVE QUICK PICK because the pool of people playing take five is larger than new york lotto and sweet million. The odds of winning don't count if you don't have enough people playing a particular lottery game. Sweet million or lotto would produce as much winners as ny take 5 if more of the total combinations to win the jackpot are played.

The REAL reason lotteries like RNG.
I've always wondered about that switch story and whether they came up with it rather than admit all 3 numbers were being picked from a single pool of ten numbers which would have exposed that they hadn't thought through the design of their RNG.

Quick Pick Or Same Set Of Numbers-Which Is Best For Increasing Your Chances To Win?
I don't think it makes a differance when you're looking for that Jackpot. I think the best way to increase your odds is playing in pool or syndicate. You may have to split the winnings, but if you do hit that jackpot, the dollar amount will still most likely be life changing!

Poll: Theorhetical situation
That's what happens now when there's a raffle, only different is all the combinations sold are thrown into the drawing pool so someone wins for sure. If it was treated like a regular lottery then it would be like selling tickets in a raffle in which no one might win. Would you buy a ticket in a raffle in which the winning numbers drawn might not have been sold? I wouldn't.
