Joining a lottery club?
The Lotto Texas jackpot was an estimated $74 million for the April 22 draw; an increase of $1 million from the previous draw. But instead, the jackpot reached $95 million. That is an increase of $22 million - an unprecedented increase.
There are rumors a lottery club tried to buy most of the combinations using an online app.
There was a single winner of the jackpot. The strategy may have been successful. Had they bought all the combinations for $25 million, they would have made a good pr

Did MM increase the jackpot?
Or did they screw up and accidentally reveal some marketing truth and announce an imaginary cash value that's needed to buy the advertised annuity?
The TX lottery website MM worksheet says that a roll will bring us an advertised jackpot of $354 million for Tuesday, but with a slightly higher cash: annuity ratio. It's also showing that higher ratio for tonight's drawing, and both the worksheet and the official MM website are reporting the cash value for tonight's drawing as $175.8 million ins

Texas Lottery to add third weekly Lotto Texas drawing
Right the annuity is only going up $250,000 each draw. So the cash value increase is about $220,000 - $230,000.
It will be interesting to see.
Edit. I just checked the last 5 draws. Cash amount on July 7 was $5,410,000. Cash amount for this Saturday's draw is $6,470,000, $1,060,000 difference. So, the cash increase is actually about $176,000 each rollover, though it does vary. The increase from last night for the next draw is $240,000 even though the annuity only went up $250,000. Interest

Will the new three day drawing schedule for Powerball increase the jackpot?
The odds will still be about 1 in 292 million, so we can expect one winning ticket for every 292 million that are sold. The chance that a jackpot will reach any particular size will continue to be the same as it has been because the odds aren't changing.
With the 3rd drawing the weekly cost of playing will increase by 50%. That means that some people will stop playing or wait for a larger jackpot, and some will skip the power play option and continue spending the same $6 per week as they do n

How to increase the winning odds of Pick 4 or 4D?
Do you agree with us that Pick 4 is a game of mathematical equations To increase your winning odds, we have to understand the complexity of mathematical analysis in probability and permutation to get the right equations for the winning numbers of Pick 4?
I used data from two different lottery games to demonstrate the impact of game design in shaping two erroneous beliefs: the gambler s fallacy and the hot-hand fallacy. Field data showed that, when there are multiple prizes in a lottery gam

$550 MILLION: Red hot Powerball jackpot rolls again
the previous jackpot of $495 million came in short at $492.1 million.
I don't think they've really got a handle on how much jackpot fatigue has changed things. Back in October they advertised an increase from 620 to 750 and only made it to 688. There's a chance that a lot of players held back after throwing a lot of money at the $1.5 billion MM jackpot, but if starting at 620 only resulted in an increase of $68 million forecasting a jump of $55 million from 495 to 550 this time around wasn'

Will Powerball Reach 1 Billion
I can't believe it took so long for somebody to start speculating.
I figure one possibility is that people spent enough on MM that it won't get much past the initial 750, or 800.A roll would almost certainly still take it past a billion for next Wednesday.
The other possibility is that MM's smallish increase was because even with less than half the money people sill like PB and played it instead of or in addition to MM, and they'll spend a bunch for this drawing. The PB record sold about 4

MM Increase by Only 5 Million?
I'm not sure what all the consternation is about. Each game (Powerball and Mega Millions) has a minimum jackpot increase amount per drawing written into its rules. Powerball's minimum increase is $10 million, and Mega Million's minimum increase is $5 million.
These rules are described on USA Mega, in the Mega Millions FAQ page and the Powerball FAQ page. Look for the section titled, What determines the size of the jackpot?
I'm sure if the lotteries could justify a higher minimum roll amou

$650 MILLION: Powerball lottery jackpot skyrockets
Sales have been on a decline for some time now. It was raised to 650 million after no one hit Saturday night. Alnost 48 hours later it has not been raised yet. If you look back to last year when the record was set it was sitting at 334 million and no one hit and they announced for the next drawing a JP of 400 mill but with 352 mill in ticket sales it ended up jumping from 400 mill to 528 mill by the time of the drawing. This past drawing started out advertised at 510 mill but ended up going to 5

I did an analysis for Powerball sales for 2014,2015,2016
Total Powerball sales for 2016: $6.9 Billion = 68% increase over previous year
Total Powerball sales for 2015: $4.1 Billion = 8% increase over previous year
Total Powerball sales for 2014: $3.8 Billion
Why Powerball sales increase so dramatically?
