$1.7 BILLION: Will Powerball create a Christmas billionaire?
You'd get a bigger jump in the days of 2 draws per week. The additional of the Monday drawing made increases a bit more incremental.

$1.7 BILLION: Will Powerball create a Christmas billionaire?
One thing I truly miss is bump up to the jackpot like in the good old days. Gone for good I'd say. For instance 'they' bump it up to $1.8 billion prior to the drawing. I know I'm a grumpy grouper folks saying WTF, they went up $100 million between drawings!

[UPDATE 2] Thanks to winsumloosesum for tracking down some errors!
This topic has given me some new energy on finding old results and I managed to track down the official Oregon Megabucks results back to the first drawing on 11/30/1985! The results will be published later today. Edit: results published.

When Powerball went to three drawings the jackpots increased about the same every week as before the change for several months despite the fact there was an extra drawing. Then people got used to it or got over their snit at the moneygrubbing lottery (including me) and began to play more $$$. I have a feeling Florida players will do the same.

One more 'one more thing'...... I firmly believe that The Florida Lottery knew well in advance of implementing the midday drawing that ticket sales would go down. By how much they'd go down was probably the only question they had on their minds. They also were very likely aware (probably advised by an advertising/marketing firm) that tampering with something that works very well could have very negative consequences in terms of ticket sales. (Like happened to Coca-Cola when they changed

I realize that from a Florida Fantasy5 players perspective going to two draws per day flat out stinks, and that me posting all of the hidden benefits for the Florida Lottery doesn't make it any better for players. However there is one more thing I'd like to say and then I'll stop my long winded rants. I think in 2020 (not sure if that's the correct year or not, but if it's not 2020 then it's close to 2020) The New York Lottery implemented two drawings per day for their Pick5 game, Take5. Tak

$1.1 BILLION: Powerball jackpot increased in longest-ever winless streak
Wow, $1.1 billion is insane! It s crazy to think that no one has hit the jackpot for 42 drawings straight talk about patience (or luck) paying off eventually. I always wonder whether I d go for the annuity or just grab the lump sum half a billion in cash would already change your life overnight. Also interesting how close the smaller prizes can still be life changing for some folks, especially with Power Play doubling them. Definitely makes me want to double check my ticket before the next drawi

Florida's Fantasy 5
I need to correct this statement in my post above - Therefore if a jackpot payable to a player for last nights Evening drawing is $110,000, then that is 62% of the total prize pool which had to be approximately $177,000. I should have written it this way - Therefore if a jackpot payable to a player for last nights Evening drawing is $110,000, then that's 62% of the WINNING prize pool which had to be approximately $177,000. My apologies for my confusion. G5
