Lottery ticket plucked from trash wins $100,000
Quote: Originally posted by Todd on February 17, 2005Shame on the ticket-buyer for not checking their own ticket, and shame on the store clerk who should know how to examine the ticket.True. I blame the ticket buyer most. If I wanna make sure, I ask the clerk AND have the clerk run it through the machine, THEN bring the ticket home to make sure again for myself, or by another person.Would the lottery organization make it public if a 1st prize scratch ticket has won, but not claimed? I hope so.

Lottery ticket plucked from trash wins $100,000
Quote: Originally posted by fja on February 17, 2005technically the store clerk was right it was not a $40 winner, thats what they asked him to check for,,,,,they obivously did not look at the ticket correctly or did not read the instructions.....and didn't the store have one of those scanning machines.....or doesnt that work for scratch offs....I don't play themWhat the clerk SHOULD have done is to scan the ticket, type in the little code that appears on it, and the machine would indicate if it

Lottery ticket plucked from trash wins $100,000
>Told the ticket wasn't a winner, the buyers pitched it in a store wastebasket.This is different than looking at the ticket yourself and deciding it's not a winner.> If I drop $100,000 in the street and walk away and the next person picks it up, it's their money, Ellen Corcella, the lottery's security director, said Wednesday.But if I toss that $100,000 because the person working the lottery machine tells me it's not a winner and is worthless, that's not dropping $100,000 in the street. Why do $5 Quick Pick Tickets...

The lottery terminal operator has no control over what numbers are selected. They are random selections.Good luck,JakeJake,You'd be surprised what can happen on a Pick 3 ticket

Funny Clerk Story
Friday morning its business as usual down at the local 7-11 store. Terri swings by on her way home after work to visit with the boss and I. We're shooting the breeze as one of my lottery regulars (John) comes in with a Rolldown (pick-5)ticket.This guy has been doing very well the past year. His 4-Digit numbers are 7292 and 1609 that he plays religiously every midday and evening draw. The last time I told him his 1609 was sniffing for a hit, he hit straight and boxed a week later for around $7,

Self Service Machines vs Retailers
I totally agree about the double slot of the new one stop shop machine. I have often tried one from each only to get the same ticket.. My main play area has a counter and the old style machine(not the one stop shop one where you can scan your winners/losers). I prefer the counter in this case, because I know the guy and will tell me if a bunch of duds just happened or if someone hit decent. His older style machine is near a self checker and his store is generally less crowded, so it would be eas

how did you play to get big winners?
@dr65
i like what you have said. i think i'll take your advice. in the past few weeks i have been winning more than usual and i believe that is because i have changed up my playing style to pretty much what you have just said.
i am guilty of feeding the machine or chasing wins and i don't believe i have ever gotten lucky this way. i have also found a LOT more luck scratching my tickets in my room compared to scratching at the counter or in my car. from now on i will spend my $20 and just w

Mass. Lottery game very profitable for those who know how and when to play
High-rolling gamblers are exploiting a quirk in Cash WinFall, raking in huge profits every 3 months
Billy's Beer and Wine sold exactly $47 worth of lottery tickets the day before Marjorie Selbee arrived, just another sleepy day for the liquor store in this tiny Western Massachusetts town. But from the moment the 70-something woman from Michigan entered the store early July 12, Billy's wasn't sleepy anymore.
Over the next three days, Selbee bought $307,000 worth of $2 tickets for a relative
