$297 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot raised again before tonight's drawing
You set the bar pretty low if you think that's a frenzy. The last time MM got this high was almost 2 years ago, in the run up to the record $656 jackpot. At that time the advertised jackpot was increased $49 million, from 241 to 290 million, compared to the current increase of $40 million. The actual cash value increase was more than $34 million, compared to the current increase of about $21.5 million. If it rolls, maybe we'll see something approaching a real frenzy after they start advertisi

How to make $42,900 playing pick 3 in 3 days. Starting with just $200
i did a deeper quick eye test and backtested this on Ohio, there were a few times where dirty numbers and doubles hit 5 or 6 in a row, but the norm was 2 or 3 .... and it seems if you wait for 2 in a row, you can get paid jumping on it for the 3rd drawing, but the even safer money is if you wait til 3 dirty or doubles in a row and then jump in ...but i think betting progressively would be the key here, and bank... because if you jump in after the 3rd dirty one and another dirty one or double hit

will ohio and other states follow texas in pick 3 and 4
Basically three ways a state can increase revenue through the lottery. Increase the price of a ticket; introduce a new game that costs more than $1 for a ticket; or increase the number of draws in a day. Texas just went to 4 draws a day with P3 and D4, following with the introduction of the All or Nothing game which began with 4 draws a day at $2 per ticket. The lottery commissions don't do these things so you can win more. Because they and we (well most of us) know quite well if you play mor

What are some of the best quotes that you have read about playing the lottery?
If you keep the dollar, you spent $0.00 on tickets and even if you spend the dollar on one ticket $0.00 times 100% still equals $0.00. Zero times anything is still zero and zero plus anything times zero is still zero. If you spend $1 and add another $1 that's a 100% increase. If you add a third $1 that's a 200% increase over the first $1 and a 50% increase on the $2. Bet my third grade teacher, Miss McGillicuddy is proud of me!

Weak Powerball Sales?
Powerball doesn't make or sell a product. They sell little pieces of paper with numbers on them. You cannot possibly compare nonperishable pieces of paper with tomatoes. Powerball obviously anticipated that they would lose customers due to the price increase, but they knew that the total dollar sales would more than make up for the lost customers. If more than 50% of the customers left after the 100% price increase, then you could say that sales are down. They're not, though. Your logic w

Powerball Changes
The price is now going up to $2 a ticket. I don't see how this is going to increase my chance of winning; but this is the spin on this change taking place on Jan 15th. I don't get it. The odds of winning will still be the same, but maybe less people will play. If they bought 10 tickets for $1.00; now they will only buy 5 tickets. If people play the same amount of tickets; yes the prize will increase, but I don't get how this is going to increase my chance of winning.

I believe the due date for the price increase is the 15th of next month where the ticket increase will be 2 dollars.....however the pot increase starting off will be 40 million instead of the usual 20 million. This tells me that lotteries are getting greedier than helll and wanting more and more money You would have thought that they would have increased the pot value when the state of florida was added to the collective given that they have a state population of over 18 million people....

$173 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot rolls
Hello guys, I'm sorry to budge in with a question that has nothing to do with this thread. BUT................... Here's my question, the powerball price per ticket, is going to increase to $2 and the starting jackpot prize would be $40 million, in early January. Let's say for all intents and purposes, no one wins the Powerball this year and it rolls until the enacment date, would the price still be values at $2 a ticket and the continous rolling jackpot, increase by the average amount
