48 Philly transit workers win $172M Powerball jackpot
Congrats to all 48 winners. One jackpot makes 48 families millionaires. I wish all big jackpots should end this way with many winners not one old couple

Few major lottery jackpot winners get chance to be anonymous
The MUSL Association publishes at the powerball website, the following FAQ and Answer:
CAN I REMAIN ANONYMOUS WHEN I HIT THE JACKPOT?
All but five states (DE, KS, MD, ND, OH) have laws that require the lottery to release the name and city of residence to anyone who asks
To the best of my knowledge, Michigan's anonymity laws are waived for the multi-state games of Mega Millions and Power Ball, for Jackpots and 2nd tier prize winners. Hence, the article maybe flawed on it's representat

Retired Illinois couple share $656M lottery jackpot
These people will do just fine. I doubt they re-locate, even short-term until this 'blows over'. I'll bet people let them be in Red Bud now and in the future. Maybe they'll buy a beach vacation home in Fla. or Carolinas, but they're grounded, mature, educated, retired professionals who know who they are and know what they want. As far as I'm concerned, people like this can win the big jackpots every single time. Bully for them.

Got my Check from the GA Lottery Corp today.Only $52
People spending this kind of money to win a jackpot that is so spread out across the map that you're sure not to hit. This is why if they cant make more millionaires from larger jackpots then they should increase the smaller tier prizes.

Do you save your tickets?
Since I only play the big jackpots, I think I'd be going through all the old tickets also (and double checking them against later drawings)...lol... Probably better that I toss them as the other person does as well.

Will Powerball roll over?
Yeah, I don't want it to roll over tonight either, because I have a ticket. Hopefully, the numbers drawn are 13-30-31-53-58 and Powerball 7. I think it's safe to say the Powerball game is back to normal though, in terms of the jackpots not getting won before getting out of guaranteed range.

Maryland Mega Millions winners claim prize anonymously
To educate people. I only think the large jackpots could be a scam, and only certain states hiding winners does not help their case. I have won plenty of the smaller games, but I see a lot of predictable patterns with jackpot games, and have predicted them many times. Definitely seem set up or phony. Until I win or see someone who actually wins I will remain skeptical.

Quick picks can't be rigged
More people buy QPs that Self picks. About 80%, and I'd imagine that when Jackpots get huge, and people are buying 100s of tickets (not uncommon in NYC and the areas surrounding - all they way out to cental NJ) are not likely to be picking every one of those lines. They are much more likely to just ask for 100 QPs.

Anyone else find the jump in MM j/p surprising?
Not at all. They aren't very concerned with what happens in a small number of drawings at minimum or low jackpots. They have 104 drawings per year and they're trying to find the balance that makes them the biggest yearly profit. Wouldn't you be happy to work the first week of the month for free in exchange for getting paid 25% more the 2nd and 3rd week and 75% more the fourth week? How about if you only had to work the first week for free 2 months of the year? That's about what PB is going for.
