I'm thinking of starting a lottery pool
I don't know about other states, but California has a limit on how many checks they will print for different pool members. Check with your state and don't go over that number, because if you do it wrong, you will end up with the total amount going to you and YOU have the tax burden. You don't want that!!

I'm thinking of starting a lottery pool
I would suggest holding off on Facebook (if it's even allowed or legal as mentioned above) for a few weeks til you're positive you want to continue running the pool. Having run a couple pools myself, I know that things can go smoothly at first and then turn into a PITA real quick.
One thing I would strongly suggest is a signed agreement from all participants clearly spelling out the requirements.
Never cover somebody's tickets if they forget or are unable to get the money to you. People ar

Pick 6 Strategy - Need help
At work we have a pool of 11 people in Texas Lotto which is a 6/54 game. I pick the numbers and we have had marginal (3 of 6) success a couple times. I put ALL the numbers in play. I play the numbers randomly. It takes 9 lines, and I play a couple QP's with them.
The guy that ran the pool before me always boughts QP's only, and never won anything.
I wouldn't play like that myself because of the cost, and I play all the jackpot games here in Tx, but I do believe that playing all the numbers

At my job, there is 15 of us that play the MM when it is over 100 Million dollars. I am the one that collects $5 from each participant, buy the quick picks, make copies of all the tickets which total 75 tickets, and distribute a copy of the tickets to all participants so there is no discrepancy in if we did or did not win the lottery. There is a right and wrong way to do a lottery pool and so for we have not had any problems.

I didn't see that one. Was it like some of these pool stories gone sour? You have a pool....one person buys the tickets...everyone chips in which
is fine..(they all split the losses, $0.00 all around...) then one fine day, the person appointed *buyer* of the tickets, goes and buys the tickets
with the pools money, finds out later HEY! this ticket is a winner and says something preposterous like: Well, I bought that ticket with my money,
not the pools, so all of the money is mine...

Did any one besides me watch the show where the Waffle House group joined a pool and won 10 Million dollars then went to court to get it . Then ended up with nothing and the won girl got it all? Talk about a selfish person she was it.

I'm thinking of starting a lottery pool
I think it would be better to have 10 people in the pool. The bigger the win the more money you will have to split. You just have to have fair people. If someone wins, are they really going to share the profit(be greedy and keep the money for themselves) or give you and the others some of the money. Trust is the most importrant thing...

I'm thinking of starting a lottery pool
I'm thinking of having 10 - 20 people in my Mega Millions pool. Do you think it would be better to keep it smaller (around 10 people), or the more the merrier?

Gotta love the Michigan Lotto!! LOLOLOL.
The way I see it they had a choice.....take a chance and play to win or they could have chose not to play. Anyone who plays the lotto knows the odds are against them. In this case they chose to play anyway. I think that most people play in pools because they're afraid that if the pool wins they don't want to be left behind. It would have been nice if you did get a win!
