$900 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot raised just hours after initial estimate
Or study codes in gematria and how everything really works. I see something weird where not the annuity which yes you're correct is determined by what you claim. I don't quite get how it goes from $868 million to $900. Did someone accidentally goof or did they purposely do that?

Likelihood of a MM Winner this drawing?
Very true! I haven't bought an Illinois Lottery ticket in a couple of years, but it is creeping up there. $17M, last I checked. That'd be about $9M after taxes and after the Lord gets His cut. I'm not sure if that $17M is an annuity or cash, though. Even so, $5M would retire me just fine!

$654 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot skyrockets
The fluctuating bond yields have thrown this advertised jackpot (annuity vs. cash option spread) all out of whack. They base it off of the amount of cash in the pot, divide it by the current bond (treasuries, I guess) rates, and that is how they come up with the advertised jackpot. A month ago it was the cash amount divided by 0.60, last week it was cash divided by 0.58, last night's drawing was cash divided by 0.565, and now it's the cash in the pot divided by 0.57.

$654 MILLION: Mega Millions lottery jackpot skyrockets
I have a feeling PB wont be won until mega wins so Ill wait some more. I was just looking at the cash amounts and was surprised to note that even though this jackpot is what 2million shy of being the 3rd highest annuity amount it's 100million dollars less than that same amount. Granted no one would care but it still seems crazy that the amounts have such a difference while only being 2 million less than each other. I was really hoping it hit on Friday and Im praying that it doesn't reach one Bil

Megamillions $303 million
I sure would like a shot at a headache of which to choose lump sum or annuity. Over 90 million or over 150 million over 30 years. that would be a nice dilemma to have to decide.-weshar75

New York man wins $10 million after buying lottery ticket every day for decades
he looks old for 66 pure and simple. if he has lived a full life fine. he is past the 3/4 pole and heading into the stretch if you know what that means. he is astute enough to know that taking the annuity will reap more revenue than if he took the lump sum. seems like he knows he will never spend much of it.

New York man wins $10 million after buying lottery ticket every day for decades
someone who has gone to the same store every day for 51 years is unlikely to need more than 350k a year to live it up with. he wants to leave the annuity to his nieces as he isn't the most healthy looking guy at the not that old age of 66 around. this was the right decision as his nieces will reap more out of this than if he took the cash.

Megamillions $303 million
Mavis Wanszyk of Chicopee, Massachusets comes to mind. I believe she won about $725,000,000.00 Annuity in August 2017. No news from her is good news.

Is the MM jackpot going to roll over tonight?
Mega Millions rolls over so slowly to get to the billion dollar annuity mark it would take quite a few rollovers. That's why I asked about Labor Day. Historically for this game July is a hot month for wins. Let's see how it plays out. Hopefully we get an official LP winner across one of these games at the next win. One who is willing to send a shout out to the community in a pre-written statement without the need for a press conference.

Mega Millions Lump Sum cash is about $100 million!!
I think in Oregon it is around $77 million after all taxes are paid in full or $128 million for the 30 year annuity if taxes do not change from here on out. If I am missing something please let me know I could survive off of either payout though.-weshar75
