That has always been my argument. The higher the jackpot the more the frenzied appeal reaches into the pool of rare players and then deep into the population of people who will be playing for the first time. What drags them out is a record jackpot. As much as we get excited about 500m, non players want to see new records every time or they just sit out. People appreciate the odds more than we care to admit. They see the long lines and at the end of the day only one winner comes up.

PB has been a lot closer to reaching a billion since their record jackpot in 2016 if the numbers came out higher when the lady from Massachusetts won the $750 million it would have been a billion with that rollover. And I would love to know how many unique combinations should we expect if they sell 14M tickets in 6/49 game. And interestingly, i couldn't find 649 game in US. so I couldn't find how many tickets could be sold. Nice wins Gator!! The 20X symbol is pretty cool and I may hold the record on 100X for most tickets bought without a symbol above 10X....just brutal.
