15 Million in a 30 year annuity. After taxes and expenses, it leaves me enough money to buy a new iphone 7, every day of a year. In 30 years I'll be in my 80's and probably dead. If I hadn't set aside any money for after that, then I deserve what I don't get.

Calif also refuses to use direct deposit, whether for a lump sum or annual annuity payments. It is either mailed to your home or you come in and pick it up. I wonder if when they mail it they at least use express mail? Probably not....

Unless the rules have changed since last time playing CA lottery years ago, you did not have specify cash or annuity @ time of purchase. Might have changed. Glad they got rid of that here, a few states still require it.

Those thinking about the annuity shd look at the payments and subtract ALL of the taxes owed. In CA that would leave you with approx 4 mil. Will it afford you a safe house? Gloria in FL got her self a nice house under 2 mil but real estate has skyrocketed over the years. The price of housing is unreal. If you are going to be worth 100 million bucks you need something safe and secure and 4 mil is not going to do it.
