Wonder if this could be a member of LP
You're welcome Ripsnorter.......I just found the article so amazing.
Most articles I see just say the winner chose to remain annonymous ...don't think Fan Five winners have to identify themselves. This guy was great!
Thank you for sharing your story about the stranger that got you interested in the lottery. I never paid attention to the Lottery myself until a friend scratched his way to $250,000 a couple of years ago, and my oldest Son won $5,000 on an easy pick pick a few weeks later.

Why It Is Important to Remain Anonymous.
This is undoubtedly one of the most important posts that you will ever see at Lottery Post, and as someone who has posted on here for years, I honestly suggest that you read this very carefully!
For months, I thought about what I would do if I won the lottery, and what my life would be like. I thought about where I would want to buy my tickets. Sometimes, I would think about being anonymous. Sometimes, I would think about whether to hold a news conference if I couldn't be anonymous i

Unclaimed lottery tickets
When winning Florida Lotto or MegaMoney, although the winner has 6 months to claim the money, he only has 60 days to choose the lump sum. It is 60 days from the drawing, not when he claims the prize. I think they should change that rule. Even for someone who checks the numbers often, 2 months is little time to get your financial affairs in order. Personally, I'd want to give proper notice where I live and work and keep my secret until I got legal counseling and moved on, but I would feel rushe

Winning lottery ticket led police to murder suspect
Investigators say Ruth was released from jail in October for domestic violence against Morgan.
I wish the police had taken this case more seriously BEFORE he killed his girlfriend. Domestic violence is not a joke, but they usually wait until they find a body before they actually listen to the frightened woman whose life is in danger. Where did a convicted criminal get a gun? (I'm not naive, but this is another big problem in our society. Surprised it didn't happen in Florida.)

Writing about online gambling now illegal in WA state
How sad that it's come to that in Washington state.
What the writer does not seem to realize is that liberal is a LOT different than libertarian . Being in a liberal state does not mean that the state wants to allow you more personal freedoms. In many ways, liberal states offer more government control and less personal freedom. They like creating new laws that expand government reach. And more tax revenue is required to support all that expanded government power, which is why the

Whittaker sued by casino over bad checks
The pastors refused his offer to help the churches? That's a new one to me. All the articles I'd read previously had, I thought, indicated that they had accepted the money. Here is a quote from one old article:
This week's tragedy doesn't seem fair, said his pastor, the Rev. C.T. Mathews, for whom Whittaker is building a $4 million church on a hilltop here.
And from another:
Since then, Whittaker has been pulled between Christian charity and trouble. He is building two churches, fe

Maryland Lottery machine glitches frustrate players
I'm an avid player that uses the multi pick cards to place my lottery picks each day. I don't understand why the company would issue cards that have (straight box) selection on it but, the machine will not take it. Also, you cannot get advance play on the MegaMillion unless you use the cards.
I frequently play lottery at a store, like all of the others, is experiencing long down times and problems with their machines. But the owners will hold your cards or lists and play your numbers when the

Texas Woman Sues Over Winning Lottery Ticket
pigsNtrees, in Texas that happens a lot. I did a search for lottery loser stories ( I love reading lottery stories- winners or losers ) and I found a site that really HATED Texas and told of a bunch of things that Texas is known for doing. One happens to be improper math.
The important thing for Texans, or anyone for that matter, to do is to know how much they are suppose to get before they collect. Then call the officials on it, if you get less. Some people don't care. If they're get

online poll....will H.R. 411 become law?
However, I wish lottery tickets could be purchased from state lotteries on the interenet across state lines. Konane
There is no law governing this and some states do sell tickets by mail. Massachusetts definitely does. In fact, you can buy a season ticket by calling a toll free number and they will mail you the slips. There is one exception, which is the MegaMillions. They will sell you all state games, but not MM. I guess the combined states have agreed not to sell tickets by mail. Some st

Playing Overseas / No taxes?
So I will assume that if you win at an overseas casino and they send you a check that you dont have to report those winnings as income?
Any income earned, whether here or abroad is taxable as long as your residence is in the United States and you are a citizen. That also includes winning lotteries or gambling abroad. Even if you live outside of the United States for a short time, you can't avoid paying tax. People often open offshore accounts or leave the country to avoid paying tax if
