Two "Blessed" Illinois lottery winners claim $349 million Mega Millions jackpot
The larger jackpots are not enticing the buyers on the sidelines as they used to. That's what it looks like.
I don't call US$90 m a large jackpot. The cash value ($40.4m) less tax isn't worth much more than $25m...Just after federal taxes.
Meanwhile EuroMillions is worth US$134 m.. after tax that is about US$78 (For an American. AS kiwi, it is worth US$124m to me, while the MM is worth only US$28.28m
The jackpot needs to get a lot higher.... Or maybe someone winning 2

Bill banning lottery courier services passes Indiana House and Senate
Megamillions needn't worry.
Their sales keep dropping. They only sold 4.6 million tickets for the April 25, 2025 draw. The jackpot rose again by $10 million. At this rate the $2.0 billion threshold will hit around October or 2026. Who knows.
Still can't quite figure out who came up the $5.00 ticket idea. Retailers don't like it. Lottery ticket buyers really don't like it, they are not buying the tickets.
Megamillions won't admit their mistake or make a change anytime soon.
I wo

Bill banning lottery courier services passes Indiana House and Senate
Couriers have nothing to do with rigging a lottery (which itself is a loaded/incorrect term). I assume by rigging you mean someone buying all the possible combinations. THAT IS NOT DONE THROUGH A COURIER. It would be too expensive, because couriers charge extra money per ticket/order.
Just because Texas legislators and the New York Times are unable to differentiate between two separate concepts does not mean that we at Lottery Post cannot correctly separate these two concepts. What they do i

First drawing of new Mega Millions game produces 5X more winnings compared to older version
3) A new world record jackpot amount will be well over $2 billion and maybe $3 billion. The prior record was in 2023 @ $1.602 billion.
That's what the lottery claims, but the actual record is the $877.8 million cash jackpot that could have funded an imaginary annuity of $1.537 billion in 2018.
I think #3 is the main reason for the change.
I'm sure they'd like to have bragging rights, but the states get the money regardless of which game holds whatever record(s) they might claim. Wh

I need the experts to help me here.
It is true that every option has its pros and cons.
I feel sometimes one needs to incorporate all of them at different times.
When the jackpots are a billion plus, we are all in with serious purchases.
When amounts are low, we hope around.
Bottom line is to keep it fun I guess.

I need the experts to help me here.
Thank you for your perspective.
As the current jackpots stand, I would not even spend the 500K a year from the annuity.
Spending 20K a month is so much for me to fathom.
I know there are people that can spend 100K a month on consumer goods and I respect that.
After all it's about choices and personal preferences.

will you play the new $5 mega millions?
Time is money and the $5 should cause faster rolls.
That being said it isn't the $5 that bothers me it's the rape-a-plier.
Having the rape-a-plier forced on every ticket is a huge ick factor which will cause me to turn into a big jackpot player.
They should have gone with an optional bigaplier for second prize and a smallaplier for lower tier prizes.
It will be several years before the next game structure change so by then I probably will be well trained to wait for the $2 Billio

Texas Lottery bans lottery courier services
Instead of them worrying about how many machines people have they may need to focus on changing the games that increase their jackpots over time.
Maybe they should stop increasing the prize amount when it is possible to buy all combinations.
Having a place to go to where they have a lot of terminals printing out tickets is a great thing when you hate standing in line at some store with one or two terminals. Couriers are even better for convenience.
More people play the smaller nonjac

Texas Lottery bans lottery courier services
The right call would have been to educate the legislature and work with them to eliminate the specific problems with targeted rules.
Yeap, that part.
The law should not apply to small games like the Pick 3/4 games.
Pick 3/4 players should be able to buy tickets online wherever they want to, even if it's in a different country. If we want to take that risk it is our risk to take. Why take our freedom to play away because games where you can buy jackpots which had nothing to do with

Oregon Lottery reveals $328.5 million Powerball jackpot winner
Wise choice for Abbas to take the cash option.
If he went with the annuity, he would be 110 years on the last payment, mmh.
If I win any of the jackpots in the next five years I would take the annuity .
Wish me luck people
