$20 tip turns into $100,000 lottery prize for Maryland Uber driver
Happy tears for this winner and his family after winnings provide means for a meaningful trip
By Kate Northrop
A lucky Uber driver decided to use an unexpected $20 tip to buy a lottery ticket, which in turn earned him a six-figure prize.
What others might call a risk turned out to be a rather lucrative decision for an anonymous Maryland man who netted a $100,000 lottery prize using a large tip he received from a customer.
At the end of a Friday night filled with jetting Uber cu

Is this weird??
I have done this both ways with $20-$25 tickets. In theory, the idea is buying at different places or at least off of different rolls that all 20 tickets could be winners. But it could also mean that all 20 tickets could be losers.
Is this game near 50% sold? Based on the number of jackpots won for $250K the game needs to hit close to 50% in sales before the next grand prize is released.
In either case, you'll be lucky to win $40 back which is what I'd expect you'd get back at best unlease

It seems like I have to continue to fight the urge to buy scratch tickets
Professional here..
j/k but serious here now, shyguitar...
You are ahead of the game by knowing what the chances are of winning a big one. The odds are awful. Just
like you said, with 4 - 6 top prizes in one game alone with a ticket printing amounting to 6 - 7 million tickets,
what are the odds? They are TERRIBLE.
Right place, right time for lower tiered prizes always happens for some. You have to be happy with $50, $100,
$500 or $1,000..but that's not happy money...with

Winning at NY Take 5
While I was at work this morning, I showed a buddy of mine my winning PB ticket and told him I was going out at lunchtime to cash that sucker in. There's a Hess station right up the road from work, so that's where I figured I go.
My buddy then says, They sold a million dollar scratch-off winner in there last week. I hadnt heard that, so I was a little surprised.
So out I go at lunchtime to The Hess station. I get my 12 bucks from The PB ticket, and I asked the clerk about the million dolla

Automatic Lottery Machines - safe?
The lottery vending machine is connected to the state lottery's central computers via a computer network. That is the only way the machine can sell Powerball or Mega Millions tickets. The ticket information has to be recorded in the central computers before the ticket can be sold and dispensed by the machine.
Most states and countries have privacy laws that dictate what personal information can be stored and for how long. I recommend you phone your state lottery office and ask for an answer i

Undercover lottery investigation tests store clerks' honesty
These types of investigations should be done more frequently, imo. I work in a convenience store, our lottery machine is situated to face the customers, the screen can be seen by them. Also, when any ticket gets validated as a winner, the machine makes a sound depending on the type of winner, which can be heard clear to the back of the store. As a rule (for myself at least), I always hand back any losing tickets to the customer....specifically because of this type of situation. If the customer t

Mega Millions And Powerball Quick Pick Secret
Most mega millions and powerball winners have won the jackpot or other prizes by playing with the following quick pick machine buttons 1,2,3,4,5 and 10.
That's correct whenever you want to play $1, the lottery clerk has to press the #1 button on the machine to generate the $1 quick pick. The same goes for $2QP, $3QP, $4QP, $5QP AND $10 QP.
But there is one little problem, whenever you play $10QP either for mega millions or powerball the store clerk might press the #5 button twice

Imagine Winning The Mega Millions And Powerball
I always imagine winning the mega millions and powerball by playing like the winners of these games. Most mega millions and powerball winners have won the jackpot or other prizes by playing with the following quick pick machine buttons 1,2,3,4,5 and 10.

a few bonus ball questions (PB or MM)
Stephi:
This is just my experience, and I do not know if it happens all the time -- but on several occasions I have picked a few of my Bonus Numbers and allowed the machine to pick my bonus numbers. The funny things is on the tickets I purchased (five lines per ticket) -- the machine picked ended up matching my picks. For example (real life) I bought a five line ticket and picked the number 17 and the number 21 as my bonus number. The other three lines were to be machine picked numbers
