The Press Event
I am familiar with all three of your examples. Abraham Shakespeare won the lottery in November of '06 and wasn't reported missing until Nov. '09. Besides not fulfilling the soon part of your statement, a press conference had nothing to do with his death. Even if Florida had allowed anonymity, Shakespeare was sued for his winnings by a co-worker, so his identity was made public anyway. (In a related story, Shakespeare's former girlfriend, Antoinette Andrews, won a million bucks in 2013.)

Winner of $1.5B lottery jackpot donates some winnings to Alabama tornado victims
Aw, i am happy she is doing this and at least we know it is a woman who won. Not sure age, but god bless her. I sure would do same with: -foster kids suffering in the system, that in so many cases don't care about them once in the abhorrent child protection system. -those suffering/and or in prison system, who can't seem to make bail for non-serious charges yet have to remain in jail at risk, rather than to fight their case from being free temporarily(again)for non-serious charges e

SC officials getting nervous that $1.5 billion Mega Millions winner won't claim prize
music, You posted this in the thread about Virginia allowing winners to be anonymous; The young man from Georgia was Craigory Burch Jr. a 20-year-old Fantasy 5 winner. He won $434,272.00 on 11/30/2015. Seven of the murderers have been caught. Some say that he should have been more discreet about gifting charities. I believe that anonymity would have saved his life. Lessons for all of us to learn. Yet in this thread you say this; I hope that the winner goes public! S

SC officials getting nervous that $1.5 billion Mega Millions winner won't claim prize
Here's how a big money winner could end up being a bit of a money loser for South Carolina. If in a few weeks no one claims a lottery ticket worth $1.5 billion sold in the Upstate, Palmetto State lawmakers may have less money to spend in the coming fiscal year. The state expects to collect $61 million in income taxes as its share of the Mega Millions jackpot if the winner opts to take the money as a lump sum. The winner still has three months to turn over the ticket to state lottery of

thngs you would need if won lottery
So I am probably more paranoid than others. I figured if I won a large jackpot, I would be so shaken up that I couldn't think or sleep hence the Xanax and trying to be organized and secure ahead would help if I ever won a lot of money. And I couldn't find that kind of list. What I came up with just things I thought of. It would take awhile to set up the advisers and trusts so I would still live in my house so I thought I would need security to keep things safe and ease anxiety. Plus sin

Mega Millions sets world record with $1.6 billion lottery jackpot for Tuesday drawing
I tell you what, guys... I live in a NON-ANONYMOUS state...KY. Looks like if I win I'm headed to the Wealth Management Folks, and ask them to pull out a few Ready-Made NEVADA or DELAWARE SHELF LLC's, and set up a Claiming Trust, and a Bridge Trust. And, of course, instruct the Rep who stands in front of the Camera to say a few words for me, without Giving away my Identity... Such as leave CERTAIN clues, so that those who USED to know me, (and claim they don't remember me anymor

Mega Millions sets world record with $1.6 billion lottery jackpot for Tuesday drawing
I got up this morning and emailed this to my kids: 10/20/2018 About the Mega millions Jackpot: Don t go crazy buying tickets. If you are like most people, you love to dream of winning the big one. It only takes buying one ticket to allow you to dream about what you would do with that kind of money. So, go ahead and buy one so you can get excited for a couple days. Even if you buy two, and, yes it does double your odds of winning, the chances of you winning are still prett
