How of you play in a Lottery Pool?
That's a pretty loyal group you got there! 5yrs, seems like y'all are due! We've been playing in a 10 member pool for 1.5yrs. Seems like we are due too! Your odds are much steeper than the regular Lotto!

How many combinations do you play?
Used to do $2/day for the Cash 5, but it became a hassle to get down to the store every day. Now I play $5 twice a week on our 6/44 game, and we have a PB pool at work for $5/week.

so did any one here ever won anything on lottery? :)
I have won a few prizes, but nothing really big. I won $25 on a scratch off a couple of times, and $50 on Lotto a couple of times, along with some other various small prizes here and there.
The best I've ever done on the lottery is I won $100 on a second chance drawing from the now defunct Powerball Instant Millionaire game show ticket. Other than that, haven't won much.
I've cut back on my playing recently, and now only play Easy 5 for myself, and Lotto and Powerball in a pool I run

22 postal workers win $10.2M Powerball lottery jackpot
I'd like to congratulate the 22 co-workers and their recent win. I have a co-worker that ask me every week to start a MegaMillion pool. I enjoy sharing these kind of stories with her. She gets so excited and then starts to share with us how she will quit work and what she will do next with the money.

Developing a winning MegaMillions System
35 WB's are 62.5% of the possible numbers, so if you can find a 25-35 number pool that has 5 hits 85% of the time, you would be on to something! Good luck tonight RJ!

Bug found?
Are there other games other than pick3 and pick4 that include zero in their number pools? Ohio's Lot'Play had 00-99 in its number pool. It's wasn't that popular so it was discontinued after a year.

Powerball rolling until Jan.?
How much does it go up each time after the cap? More people would play which would increase the size faster, but also the chances of winning. I would not mind the second prize pool either after the cap. I forget what it was, but I thought it was also in the lower millions?

Question regarding filters...
Really, the bonus ball in Powerball and Mega Millions is a killer, which is why I decided to switch my system over to Hoosier Lotto, a Pick 6 game with all the numbers in the same pool.

New Powerball / Mega Millions Survey
I run a powerball pool of a group of 18 at work. Collecting money is definitely a pain, but we have a website up and are integrating an electronic payment recipt (keep paid users in the database). If you're payment isn't in before the drawing, you won't get a timestamped electronic payment recipt, and you are not in for the drawing. I'm not going to be running around to 18 people collecting money. Hopefully it would be enough to hold up in court, ha.

New Powerball / Mega Millions Survey
Interesting idea, but I would have a number of questions, such as:
Is this an actual 'pool' created by the lottery with you and another 9 entrants, who all have the same set of 10 tickets? If so, what if you were to receive a set of 10 tickets only distributed to 4 other people, does 50% of the prize remain unclaimed and get put back into the lottery? Say you were the last one to purchase lottery tickets before the sales closed. They're rarely going to have ticket sales be a perfect multiple
