I can get closer to a win doing just all ODD/Evens
I track all Ohio jackpot games but I usually only play RC5 when it's $300K+, I've been working on picking numbers for MegaMillions. I usually play 10-20 lines using a pool of 30-40 numbers without much luck yet even when I have four or more winning numbers in the pools.

A risky proposition worth taking...
The best 'system' ANY of us have here will only bag 3 of the numbers - (and not as often as you think), that's been well-established. If your pools of numbers are large enough all the winning numbers will be in them, the problem is the number of combinations that are possible. I've found with a pool of 25-30 numbers for the MM game, I'll have 3 or more of the winning numbers 75% of the time and all five 15% of the time. I'm comfortable with my chances picking 20 of those combinations usin

...another discovery about lottery numbers
That's ALOT of numbers, dude. If it suits you, so be it though. I narrow my numbers for each columns down to 1 or 2 numbers. Sometimes I might have to play 3 different numbers for one particular column. Overall, my pool of numbers rarely goes over 10 numbers (excluding the MM ball).

...another discovery about lottery numbers
Many new players come to LP hoping someone or a group have developed a system or strategy that wins big and are willing to convince them that it really works. Unfortunately, that's what people who are trying to sell something do, information as LP is shared freely as is. The pick3 and pick4 forums are more active in that regards and the pick5 and jackpot forums have their supporters too but they haven't developed a consensus on what works. Like johnph77, I and others post information and char

Lp Members Will Automatically Share w/each other!
Before I retired, I had co-workers say the same thing to me but I always took it as a joke if we weren't in a lottery pool together and didn't associate or socialize outside of work and I would let them know it. No one could seriously think someone who didn't know them socially or as family would feel any obligation to share their money with them unless they were on drugs or mentally handicapped.

Gas prices affecting lottery sales
I think sales will go down because people might not play as often or will start setting a spending limit. Luckily I manage an office pool which everyone is dedicated to playing but it's for the Mega Millions so I'm not exactly turning a profit.

Man quits lottery pool, then wins with Quick Pick
As he won on a Quick Pick he bought, not part of a pool, he shouldn't give any of his win to anyone else. However, I don't understand why he decided to go public. In the UK winners can remain anonymous. He will learn the hard way that, discretion is the better part of valour.
