So sorry I have been busy reading the posts on our record breaking powerball! Yes it is too late to write your check. It has to be within 24 hours and my understanding the void of course is when the moon moves or until it is into the next house or sign. I am no expert, I am just following what I read. Regardless if you form a trust or not, under Calif law, your name and hometown will be public record. You do not have to give them a photo or interview or any other info. I read where one couple in SoCal had their atty drive them to NorCal where they claimed the prize at some small city and then drive them to the airport where they flew to Hawaii for a month or more.
