I AGREE! I knew this would happen when they both started to introduce the high population states into MM and Powerball a few years ago. It was all BS about there would be large jackpots more frequently and a $500 million dollar jackpot...Neither has happened and probably barring a great coincidence never will. TWO Million Dollar game coming soon to Tennessee
I think this will start next month in February. I hope the odds are good on it. And I hope I have better luck the few times I play it than the few times I have played TN Millionaires club and the FEWER times I have played Millionare Jumbo Bucks! To me, TN's jackpots on the scratch offs are middle of the road (i.e. much better than KY but not as good as GA) so I hope this shows TN is headed in the direction of GAs jackpots. I wouldn't call any where in Idaho the hub of lottery activity, but today someone from Idaho has $120 million before taxes. It's pretty obvious if 70% of the tickets are sold in big cities, over time 70% of the jackpots will come from those cities.

i read a lottery study over quick picks and self picked numbers based on last 15 years its report said with so many computer generated quick picks they account for only 15percent of winners of jackpots whilst 85 percent came from non quick picks often when sometimes leaving my lottery ticket at home i have bought quick picks and found very rare a win or lucky 3 matching numbers ive never hit 4 numbers with a quick pick in last 20 years

PowerBall and MegaMillions aren't the only jackpot games. Most states have a 6/47-49 jackpot game that start out at $1.0M and are usually won before they reach $8.0M, problem is they don't attract a lot of players so most states add games like MM and PB to attract more players. Games with better odds and smaller jackpots are already available for those those players who prefer them.

I think one of the reasons the jackpot jumped so much is because many more states offer the Mega Millions game. Not that many people would drive to another state as before but now, if you just have to drive a few miles and know about this big jackpot, it means the jackpots will increase much greater now.
