CT Lottery security chief on paid leave following review of botched raffle draw
turn something as simple as firing the idiots who messed up into a giant mess
What's the giant mess? I doubt anyone here is interested in reading the entire report, so all we're likely to know will come from the snippets that are reported in the media. The people who actually conducted the drawing obviously screwed up, but how and why they screwed up is a lot more complicated than just entering the wrong number and not catching the mistake.
their job is to AUDIT the process of the drawi

Florida Scratch Offs - Post Pictures if posible
I agree.
I don't think it is rational to not deduct losses simply because someone is afraid of a potential audit. To me, it sounds like that CPA is doing big Jim a big disservice as a financial consultant by discouraging him from deducting any of his losses. Gamblers lose far more than they win, typically. Hardcore lottery players in my opinion should always be deducting their losses. Big Jim can get a little bit of he money withheld from his big win, which is something considering how m

British Columbia Lottery taking bets on US election
trump will never release his taxes! And he will lose some votes because of that.
By Jason Easley on Sun, Jul 31st, 2016 at 12:03 pm
Donald Trump admitted in a new interview that if he releases his tax returns, he will lose the election.
Donald Trump defended his tax returns as legal, but that doesn t mean that it s right. What Trump is most likely hiding is the fact that he hasn t paid any personal income taxes for decades. Trump isn t paying his fair share of taxes. That is w

CA Second Chance Multiple Account?
I seem to be very good at finding tickets. Not very good at winning (Yet) Over 3000 a month at if I try. I know the places to go and spots where people throw away the most tickets.
I have set up accounts for myself, family and friends. But my question is.. if I have multiple accounts under me; say one under Robert and one under Bob other then out right winning on both accounts in the same week.. how would the lottery know I had them. I use different address under each name, the phone num

Remember this Gary?
EXECUTIVE SUMMARY The Texas State Lottery Act requires the Executive Director to employ an independent firm to conduct a comprehensive study of all aspects of lottery security at least once every two years. In April 2012, the Texas Lottery Commission (TLC) engaged Delehanty Consulting, LLC to perform the required security study. The study included each of the twelve aspects of lottery security identified in the State Lottery Act. ? Lottery personnel security ? Sales a

Player sues Oregon Lottery, charging video poker game rigged
In my view, it's a legitimate lawsuit.
Among the problems with that notion is that it's not the state's responsibility to teach people how to calculate odds and play poker. Auto-hold is an automation that usually makes the best choice. It will do better, on average, than all but the small minority that are extremely good at making the decision, and those that are better are morons if they're blindly relying on auto-hold to play for them.
Then there's the fact that, under the official rul

How did you do in the Lottery in 2014?
Anybody can make a bold claim, but yours is pretty bold. How much did you win/lose/play in 2013 and 2012?
If you were playing WA Match 4 the odds of getting 49 hits in the number of trials suggested by your expenditures are so incalculable that it is impossible. Even more than 16 wins (32.7% of implied claimed 49 hits) has odds of nearly 1 in 400 billion. There's a 99.99% probability of having fewer than 8 wins.
If you were playing a traditional Pick 4 elsewhere which has top prize of $5K

Audit: Stores buying Michigan lottery tickets from players
From the original report (emphasis added):
Although the Bureau reported the retail owners' winnings to the Department of Treasury for income tax reporting purposes, 6 (40%) of the 16 20/20 winners for calendar year 2012, who were licensed lottery retail owners, did not report $509,211 of their lottery prize winnings on their State income tax returns for calendar year 2012. Section 206.30(6) of the Michigan Complied Laws indicates that lottery prize winnings must not be excluded from a taxpay

No one would think you won a big JP if you drove this
noise-gate,
When Yugos were available there was a Mercedes or Corvette dealer in Vegas that gave away a Yugo with each new car bought. They advertised that the Yugo was for driving to your IRS audit.
Nightstalker,
Gee, I didn't think about the helmet aspect.
When you do a search for 'Elio' one site says 'Elio hoax' and that made me wonder if the Pep Boys ad was some kind of Mad Magazine thing or something.

Pa. lawmaker wants to give lottery winners right to remain anonymous
Oh puh-lease. This is all hogwash and you know it. So spare me.
Tax dollars aren't going towards funding any jackpots, so the public has ZERO right to know. When our taxpayers start funding the megajackpots THEN you MIGHT have a case, until then, it's simply you being both nosey and paranoid.
Secondly, since when should a resident's well being come second to...anything? Kidnapping threats, murder plots, harassment, stalking (the list goes on) should be taken in stride because YOU don't f
