NY man claims friend broke deal to split lottery prize, files lawsuit
Things like this are one of the reasons I play by myself and I don't make promises of splitting wins with anyone. If you're going to play with other people, it's best to have a written contract of some sort made out.

Minnesota paperless, instant-win Lottery games to end

Court rules grandmother, 90, will receive $1.85 instead of $41M jackpot
As a 90-year-old grandmother, Pauline McKee tries to maintain a sweet disposition.
When she played a penny slot machine that told her she had won more than $41 million, the Antioch woman remained pretty calm. That was nice, she said, recalling her reaction. Very nice.
And when she learned on Friday that the Iowa Supreme Court ruled the casino does not have to pay her the big bucks, McKee took it stoically.

*spin-off* Lottery Pool and buying your own tickets/same numbers
In a perfect world your pool wouldn't include any members who ar stupid and/or dicks. Since that's not possible, you could either take that very, very small risk, or you could have a contract that prohibits members from purposely playing the combinations that the pool has played.

Indiana store clerk in trouble for buying lottery ticket
Ok, please explain WHY a store clerk can't buy a lotto ticket. What advantages do they have over anyone else. When the LC offered me a job it states in their employment contract that you nor ANY family member can play but WHY. It's not like they work inside the programmers rooms or the manufacturing facility

$12 million Texas lottery jackpot unclaimed
On the plus side everyone who actually wins will get their money and expired tickets will be a thing of the past. On the negative side, you can never ask for someone to buy a ticket for you ever again. The lottery will identify the purchaser of the ticket as the winner, unless you have a signed contract with every 'friend' you go halveses with, people are going to get screwed.

Ohio Classic Lotto goes more than 2 years without winner
Does Lotter sell tickets for any state games or just simulate certain games and have their own payouts? You should read their contract and see what you're actually buying.
