It's Official, The Lottery is Band?! What Now!
If lotteries were banned. you'd see see outrage on massive levels, yes there would finally be change. there would also be more crime in the form of illegal gambling. There would be a steamroll effect, more organized crime which will more to more drug dealing more theft more murder, being a numbers runner is a high risk occupation. isn't that what the whole gangster era of the 30's and 40's were about. Who would really lose ? the schools for one . which means a higher property tax for me the home

Finding a lottery ticket
This is what I pulled from my states site.
Q: What happens if I lose a winning ticket?
A: SCEL is not responsible for lost or stolen tickets. If you lose a ticket, it is like losing cash and cannot be replaced. To protect yourself against theft, always SIGN YOUR WINNING TICKET as soon as you realize the ticket is a winner. Also, if you are not cashing the ticket immediately, fill out the entire ticket back. This may increase your chances of having a lost ticket returned to you.

Clerk's error makes N.J. man a $100,000 winner
Im with you . Im beginning to think that its not about luck. its about destiny, your personal fate. I think about not just lottery but all the things in life that just HAPPEN to people. job, family lottery, cancer. In terms of the lottery, I think of someone lets say like Bob Sehsted. It was so called luck that he won that 500k right, but look at how many clerks cheat customers out of winnings. But in his case the clerk signed the ticket and presented it like anyone else. What would make the lot

Would you check your numbers before you let a store clerk check for you
Ever heard of the word LAZY?
When you hear about these types of stories the theft happens because the customer did not bother to sign the winning ticket and give a long list of worthless excuses on why they did not check the ticket themselves. There is never an excuse to not check your own ticket. Nor is there a reason not to sign your winning ticket.
But to answer your question, Yes I always check-check-and recheck any of my tickets before I go cash them in. And I make sure I write my nam

Lottery hoax causes riot at Ohio coat store
I too don't see what President Obama has to with a woman creating chaos with a fake giveaway from the lottery prize. I;m glad she was apprhended and pray she pays for what she's done. If she's not mentally fit then I pray she gets the help she needs. The people who took merchandise shoud be prosecuted as the law allow for theft.
Whild Healthcare was not a right given to us in the Constitution, there should be options which allows for people to obtain affordable coverage and not have

Scientific Games sued a second time by Gameologist
If you think it was clearly a theft of intellectual property you clearly didn't understand what you read. This isn't a news article, it's a one-sided press release from a law firm that's attempting to publicize their client's allegations. As near as I can tell from this and their previous press release, their claim is strictly related to trademark infringement for uses of the word bling . Unfortunately for them, bling and bling bling were in popular usage well before they decided to get their tr

Lottery winner loses ticket, awarded unspent portion from couple who found it
Maybe I missed something. The ticket was lost and found in a public establishment. The ticket was then cashed in by the finders. The ticket loser discovers she's lost the ticket. How much time passed between the ticket loss and the ticket being cashed in? Why wasn't the ticket signed? What am I missing in this story? Why are the finders being charged with fraud? If you're going to play the lottery and expect to win why is it so difficult to sign your ticket when you purchase them so incidents li

Lottery winner picks up check, then gets arrested
He was wanted on a six-year-old warrant for failing to appear at a 2003 court date to face previous charges of possession of stolen propertyand theft under $5,000, Peel Regional Police Const. JP Valade said. ... Interesting how most U.S.A. folks on this board assume this man is guilty, since in the U.S.A. legal system, it is instead presumed that a person is innocent until proven guilty!
Anyhow, how exciting it is to walk-away with a check for $4.37 Million Canadian Dollars (after most o

Lottery win bad news for gas station employees
I don't think this owner has anything to worry about concerning fall out from firing those employees...if anything, it would have more to do with the petroleum products he sells.
Also, by and large, convenience store employees are unloyal...sure most convenience stores have security cameras to thwart or catch any robbers and thieves...but they also install those cameras to catch employee theft as well. Let's give this thread a break...on the lottery playslip rules, it says a bonus will be pa
