Paranoid or Prudent?
Look let me put it to you straight! I am not here to win points, I am not here to make friends, nor kiss up to Todd. He has a great site.
Nor am I here to put anyone down. I simply speak my mind. I do not care if you made 10 mil dollars last year or 10 dollars. Your wit or wisdom or stupidity or foolishness belongs to you individually, unless you stole it from someone. In that case I am not concerned if you are a thief or liar or a complete lunitic.
I have my beliefs about the organizati

California Lottery official fired for taking 'bonus' from hotel
A California Lottery official has been fired for allegedly pocketing gratuities tied to the weekly Big Spin TV show, where scratch-off ticket winners vie for a chance to win millions.
Richard Leeson was dismissed after an internal investigation found that he received redeemable honors points from a contract to house Big Spin contestants at the Glendale Hilton Hotel, officials said.
This is not the kind of thing you can make excuses for, Lottery Director Joan Borucki said Tuesday at a

If I reduce the MM or PB number pool by half and play 3o2e/3e2o...(?)
Sorry I took so long to reply, I didn't even know you replied back.
Again, you're simply showing that you don't understand how probability works. Probability is an exact science. You're just confused about what it can predict . It doesn't predict future events. It describes probabilities. There's a reason we don't refer to the laws of certainty or the laws of what's definitely going to happen.
No, I took advanced mathematics in college. I'm pretty versed on the subject of pr

U.K. Lottery operator wants to create global super-lottery
Camelot will launch the first ever global lottery draw if it wins the right to run Britain's game for another 10 years with players from all over the world generating jackpots of up to half a billion pounds (nearly one billion dollars).
The international lotto would dwarf the existing Euro Millions weekly game, in which nine countries have joined together to achieve astonishing top prizes of 125 million.
The new game would span the globe with some 50 countries already voicing interest i

Lottery foes try to restrict gambling, with little success
Some New York lawmakers want the state to tell lottery-ticket buyers how slim the odds are of winning, and raise the gambling age from 18 to 21 to try to discourage gambling sprees.
But those who oppose change have a ready rejoinder: The state is, in effect, addicted to the billions in revenue that Lottery games generate.
The status quo is likely to prevail.
If you put in the ad 'The New York Lottery jackpot is now $10 million' and in the next graph say the odds of wining are 1 in 12 m

Indiana Lottery promotion gets crazy
Lottery chief hurt as crowd grabs potentially valuable balloons
Indiana Lottery officials had hoped to parade into Pan American Plaza in Indianapolis on Wednesday afternoon and let 200 red balloons some carrying prizes fly into the sky and ultimately into the hands of some lucky Hoosiers.
But before they were able to yell Go! a hundred or so people who'd gathered to watch the event charged forward, grabbing balloons and roughing up at least one of the balloon-holders.
No, no! An

Probability of a Rollover in Powerball.
The Powerball jackpot has rolled over. The cash jackpot is now $36M. The advertised annuity is now $74M. Eighth round jackpots sell on average, 18.6M tickets. If this is the number of tickets that sell on this drawing the randomized probability of a rollover will be as follows:
088.02%
111.23%
20.72%
30.03%
Note that the last time, in error, I posted the long term probability starting from an eighth draw and not a seventh. Thus the correct long term model

Would you loan money to someone to gamble
I am the BORROWER
And here is what I say
You were my friend or you wouldn't have loaned it to me
I am still your friend---until you decide to make the money more important----
If my friendship is/was not worth the $450 (in your case)
then I have not contributed enough to the relationship to set the value above that amount...
I will probably never pay it back---unless one event happens---
I will pay when I get a nice HIT which may never come--
but if it does-----you won
