Over €85 million in unclaimed Ireland Lottery prizes over the past five years
Lotto game currently on six-month winless streak
By Kate Northrop
Over the last five years, Ireland's National Lottery has had over 85 million (US$95.8 million) in unclaimed prizes returned to its wallet.
Whether lottery winners lose their winning ticket, forget to claim their winnings, or were unaware of the win in the first place, those numbers sure do add up.
Each year, from 2016 through 2020, the Lottery saw at least 16.1 million (US$18.1 million) returned back to its bank

Lottery winners use wacky names to claim prizes
An older gentleman walked into Cincinnati attorney John Brinker's office a few years ago seeking some help.
He had won $656,000 through the Ohio Lottery's Rolling Cash 5 game and wanted to preserve his anonymity. Ohio allows trusts to claim lottery prizes so the identity of big winners can remain a secret.
The man needed a proper name for his trust.
Brinker looked the winner up and down and, on the spot, came up with the perfect name The Wish This Had Happened Sooner Trust.

Florida man putting $14.5 million lottery win toward education in India
.
OK Lottery Post folks, so an Indian gentleman has won a ton of money, and plans to send it home to India for education purposes. OK, that's to be applauded. He wants a future for the kids coming from there.
But that's just it, anyone coming from there (India), must have the means to come to The U.S.A., where they'll become Scientists, Programmers, Lawyers, Doctors, etc., Anyway, OK. It's nothing new.
Except now, they get a ton more money to prepare
even more people for the wide-e
