3 charged in theft of $250,000 lottery ticket
. Thank you. That struck me as strange too. But, not being a scratcho player, I didn't quite understand it. Like Music* commented, I too am just a MM and PB player. No doubt they'll have to change the whole way they manufacture these scratch-off tickets. I don't know how, but I hope all participating counties get on board to prevent this sort of thing from happening again. Lots of good comments on this article.

Online lottery sales not approved by Massachusetts lawmakers
. Many good points have been made here, this evening. If you are just joining this article, and it's comments, please be sure to read all the comments. I have learned a lot from the comments here AND in previous articles and their comments. Lessons learned here have already forged certain decisions I'll make from now, on: I shall NOT participate in online gaming of any kind, for fear of the smallest prizes accumulating within the year and resulting in the IRS obliging me. Live Stream Earthquakes ~ 48 Hours Global Activity
Thanks for this interesting article, Eddessa_Knight! Creep is the slow steady movement of earth along the fault, in different directions. Unlike earthquakes, creep is seismic movement that is so slow and subtle, it is typically not felt. But it shows up in structures made by humans, such as concrete roads and buildings, which are too brittle to adapt to the slow movement of the ground below. Kentucky Lottery launches online ticket sales
Thanks for posting this Todd. Will never know if my suggestion as a news story was the reason for posting this informative article. One fine day I'll be going to Kentucky Lottery Headquarters on Main St to get the big one. Not too far from where I work @ the PICU a few miles away--a very sad job. I remember years ago going there to buy tickets and the security guard there said they don't sell tickets. Wish they did, Massachusetts does, not that I've ever visited their headquarters (y

What is the BEST and What is the WORST of LP?
As someone who frequents comments sections on tech websites (like Ars), I can tell you that there is no difference in intellect. (That's actually fairly insulting what you said - I'm sure you didn't intend it to be.) There is a big difference in familiarity and expertise with technology, but it's a big mistake to confuse that with intellect. To state that commenters on technical websites stick to the topic better and have more civil discourse is a laugh and a half. Go to ANY article about an

Multi-state lottery game coming to Wyoming
I've seen Wyoming once, from the big truck I used to drive. I thought it was quite barren. But, then I read in this article that there ARE people there, who had a board meeting, no less. So, wow, people in 3 piece suits? Having a board meeting, but there's so much open space, and very windy too. It's hard to think of people living there. But, OK, if they want to add to their lotto, that's fine with me. I won't try to stop them. Wyoming: Cowboys, Rodeos, Lotto! (and a bit col

FBI warns about lottery fraud
Exactamundo! But, we read in the article that the elderly are being targeted. And, I feel so doggone sorry for them, because they've spent their whole lives saving, and whatever, just to give it away to some crook. Especially sorry for the Virginia victim. But, she was a school teacher. Even elderly, she'd been trained to not fall for shenanigans (to a degree, anyway), and to suspect tomfoolery and such. Don't you think? I'm afraid these Jamaicans are even reading our posts.
