First winner of big Illinois Lotto jackpot didn't let riches change him
I've seen more than a few people on TLCML and COTL who filed for bankruptcy or simply lost it all who took the annuity. Graduated payments mean nothing to those who simply can't live within a set budget.

First winner of big Illinois Lotto jackpot didn't let riches change him
I am happy to read a story about someone who did well with their life after a big win. My husband and I are not sure whether we would take an annuity or cash. It would depend on the amount won.

Would you post a Major Win here on the Forum?
wow annuity option, must be a big one too. Congrats by the way! Well to proof, you just need a picture of the ticket that is easily identifiable. But really, just keep it to yourself and enjoy the winnings. There's no need to show off 'cause it doesn't do you any good...and neither will the others. Most you'll get is a congrats!

N.C. man wins $4M lottery, joins friend in 'the millionaires' club'
Thank you Lotto Metro- Yet according to the ticket on the NC website it states 4 Million ( it doesn't denote 4 Million annuity value). Thus my inquiry.

States pull the plug on Monopoly Millionaires' Club
Here's a simple idea. How about take the same States that were in on this game and make a game that pays out a million dollars a year for life annuity. One draw every Friday night. Make it a $2 game. There it is. I'd bet the house that a game like this would sell...The creators of this Monopoly game should not only lose their jobs, but go straight to jail and not collect $200...

Powerball Matrix Change - April 15, 2015
By the way, in order to reach 50% base game payout, the cash jackpot would have to be about $200-225 million. Since the payout is considered the long-term average, the jackpot at this level would likewise be considered the average. An average cash jackpot of $200-225 million would be double the current theoretical average. This implies a potential average annuity of $500 million. Is it really possible they have accepted defeat and will allow a billion dollar jackpot?!

Whats you thoughts on MONOPOLY MILLIONAIRES' CLUB?
Not worth playing until the maximum jackpot has been reached and 40-50 second place prizes are possible. The jackpot is a sad $15M cash option or $25M annuity as this is meant to be many people winning a decent amount. Even if you do win second place and get the $1M cash it will be taxed to around $600k so it is not a millionaires club in my books.

TLC~ The Lottery Changed My Life on again
I think Terry did do the right thing by taking a combinations of the annuity and cash pay-out. Hopefully he doesn't go belly up with his investment properties.

$321 MILLION: Mega Millions jackpot is red hot
I like that the cash value is at about 60% of the annuity. Lately it's been a lot less than that. I'm loving all these numbers. High jackpot, high CV...and the holidays just around the corner.

Are Mega Millions sales really that bad now?
If the advertised jackpots are really growing about the same as in the past that's clear proof that average sales are lower than they used to be. Changing the annuity schedule resulted in a significant increase in the advertised jackpot relative to sales, and the actual cash value is now significantly lower for any given amount.
