Traveling to Play Lottery
Before MegaMillions came to Ohio I would travel to Michigan for BigGame tickets and to Indiana for PowerBall tickets when their jackpots were $100M+. Ohio now has MM and PB so I no longer travel out of state for lottery tickets, now it's only for the joy of traveling.

California Lottery cancels 'Millionaire' TV show
Instead of bringing PowerBall to California those guys are working out some silly game with a 1M jackpots - which is less than some scratchers games. I guess thats gonna be a fix for a Super Lotto Plus. I probably should be thankful to those guys - they will save me a few bucks, but somehow don't feel grateful at all.

No MegaMillions winner tonite. 266M for Tuesday
266M offer a great expected value for $1 bet. I have my $1 ready for one set of quick pick. When the mega millions or powerball jackpots get that high, your chances of hitting a second prize for $250k, $200k or $10k increase with a $1. Anyway i wish everybody good luck whether you spend $1 or a $100.

$300,000,000 Jackpots
I went with maybe. It's really hard to tell. While more states joining each game mean more money in sales, and that means higher jackpots, it also means more tickets are being sold, and the chances of someone hitting the jackpot increase with each ticket sold. I think if one of the games sees a $300 million jackpot anytime soon, it's going to be Powerball, since Mega Millions added so many more states and people than Powerball.

POLL: Jackpot amounts
I'm not convinced systems are any better than QPs at winning jackpots, it just a matter of preference. They might be effective when trying to cover a group of numbers and could be the difference between winning a small 0+1 to 2+1 type prizes of $1-$3 and nothing.

POLL: Jackpot amounts
Maybe there's a thread devoted to this elsewhere on here, but curious how many players/LP members would take the annuity payouts with the MM and PB with jackpots being so high?

POLL: Jackpot amounts
I don't think there is an obscene amount for one person to win, but if a jackpot goes up to 200, 300+ million, I dont mind seeing more then one person win it. It would be nice to see more then one person benefit with really large jackpots. But, like some other members here, I am one of those people who would LOVE to win a jackpot no matter how small. Even if it might mean having to share. It would be better then nothing.

Do you really need that much?
People who think large lottery jackpots are obscene don't play lotteries as Ohio found out about 25 years ago.
When Ohio had one of the most successful lottery in the country and America Game(later PowerBall) was getting started its SuperLotto game would roll at least $4M after every drawing and folks from PA, IN, MI, WV and KY would drive to OH to buy tickets and win jackpots of $30-$75M. Someone convinced Ohio that $20M was enough for any one lottery ticket to win and Ohio limited the amou

Powerball jackpot seems very inflated.
Now that both games are offered in so many states and it seems most jackpot winners take the cash, MM might be the better game to play when the jackpots are about same.
