Well let's hope so, otherwise it would suck that they completely changed the matrix to make it harder to win and to guarantee larger JPs only to fall short of a JP amount set when people stood a better chance of winning. They aren't going to break any cash value records with this one, but after all of this, they had at least better break the annuity record.

Mega Millions Jackpot state!
With close to 2/3 of the possible 259,000,000 combinations being sold for tonights drawing I am predicting that the jackpot will be either hit this evening or no later than Christmas. I also feel that there will be more than 1 jackpot ticket sold. When it does hit I think there will be at least 4 jackpot tickets. I just try to process how does the amount of sales affect the jackpot: $550 million was the carry-over from last week. $400 million in sales, x% of that goes into the prize pool, 65.154% of the prize pool is allocated to the jackpot prize. This jackpot is going to be a record one. I hope that someone (me, obviously) will win today. I think if the jackpot keeps rising it would just backfire later making people think 'What's the jackpot this time? $150 million? Pff, that's nothing!'.

The MM 'playbook' (AHEM!) has it scheduled for a record jackpot to be hit on Christmas Eve- 12-24-2013. Even Santa Claus is in on it. Is there no shame? You heard it here first.

Mega Millions Odds
I don't really care for the changes to Mega Millions. They already have astronomical odds of winning and to decrease the odds seems like a money grab. They know the higher the jackpot is the more people will spend on lottery tickets. It's like moving the goal posts 15 yards back on a team trying to score a field goal to win a game. (Not the best analogy but a lot of truth to it.) My opinion is that it will break the record and reach the 1 Billion dollar mark and everyone will get in a frenzy buy
