Connecticut Gov. considers dumping Powerball
I think you're right about DE being the only state that officially allows you to remain anonymous. However, some other states have respected a winner's right to privacy, and do not release private details if requested. For example, Maryland is very good about respecting the wish to remain anonymous.

Lottery winners right to privacy
In the UK, you can remain anonymous is you are a winner. A winner can opt for anonymity, which is absolute. Those opting for anonymity can be confident that we will make every effort to ensure that their wish is respected and cannot, in the event of any media enquiry, comment in any way on whether a winner has won, if they have chosen to remain anonymous. What do you fear upon winning?
Why can't winners in USA chose to be anonymous? Is this a federal rule or is it like this because the lottery commisions want the publicity the lottery and the winners get?In Norway you got the possibility of being anonymous if you want.

Forming a trust to claim prize
I thought that some states don't allow you to do anonymous even if it's with a trust?Ok, call me naive, but why would you want to remain anonymous exactly? Wouldn't you WANT to share some with relatives? Because more then just relatives come out of the wood-work. Long lost friends, scammers. relatives who you don't know or who you haven't seen in years and you know don't really care about you, etc.

Ticket Buying.
I buy my tickets at several stores.I got four stores which sells lottery tickets in the close vicinity. One of the reasons is the same as Litebets27. If I win I want to stay as anonymous as possible. In Norway winners has the option of being anonymous, but it would be possible for my nearest lotto station to identify me if I won a larger prize. So I prefer to buy the tickets in a nation wide newsagent chain which got two stores in my town.

Subscription- Which State?
thanks for the info on va.But is there anyway I can be anonymous if I buy a season ticket. You see, if I win the jackpot, they will have my details and would make it public. If I win, I have always hoped to go through a lawyer and create a trust for myself and remain anonymous. Is there any way I can create a trust before hand and fill in the season ticket forms with the trust name? Or do they require my personal name? thanksMP

Forming a Trust... any links to info?
Actually, the woman who won the $13.5 million powerball in Kentucky is anonymous. I thought Delaware was the only state in which someone could become anonymous without forming a trust, but apparantly, some states will make exceptions.

NJ lottery winners might soon be able to stay anonymous
Big jackpot winners and lucky scratch-off ticket holders in New Jersey are one step closer to keeping their winnings a secret after the state Assembly passed a bill that would shield the identity of lottery winners in the state.
The measure (S2267), sponsored by state Senate President Stephen Sweeney, D-Gloucester, and Sen. Kristin Corrado, R-Passaic, would directly amend the state's lottery regulations.
Currently, the state requires the ticket holder to publicly come forward to claim thei

NY Gov Cuomo vetoes bill that would have allowed lottery jackpot winners to remain anonymous
A 500 million dollar jackpot can get you a lot of things, but anonymity isn't one of them.
Gov. Cuomo on Saturday announced he vetoed a bill that would have allowed lottery winners in New York to remain anonymous if they so desired.
Under state law, jackpot winners in most cases must agree to be identified publicly.
A bill passed earlier this year by the state Legislature would have prohibited the state Lottery from identifying any holder of a winning lottery ticket if that person provi
